Job Purpose:
The purpose of this position is to perform all required maintenance and repairs related to buildings, grounds, and equipment, in one or more areas such as electrical, plumbing, painting and grounds-keeping.
Required Qualifications:
- Grade 10 education, plus related vocational training such as a building maintenance course. Two years recent related experience. Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

PROFILE SUMMARY
The Building Maintenance Technician (PDS) of GN Corporations Inc. (GN) is a full-time position, responsible for conducting general maintenance, repairs and inspections on facility equipment and property structures, both interior and exterior.
SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS
Clean interior & exterior of the building, as well as industrial machinery and equipment.
Perform routine building maintenance duties, including painting, minor electrical repairs, plumbing, carpentry, and heating and ventilation systems maintenance.
Assist service technicians and machine operators during equipment preventive maintenance and rigging tasks.
Keep inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, and report needs to maintenance manager.

Position summary:
Under the supervision of the Property Manager, the Building Maintenance position, internally called the Caretaker, is responsible for regular building checks of each property in the regions to ensure they meet the quality standards Makola sets. The focus of the role will be to pick up garbage around the buildings, posting notices if needed, maintaining basic building mechanical systems, assisting with unit turnovers and inspections, and participating in the on-call rotation for after hours calls. This role will also perform minor repairs in units and buildings that may include, but are not limited to, touch up painting, patching drywall, recalking plumbing fixtures well. What We Need from This Role
Reporting to the Team Lead, Building Services, the Renovator will be responsible for performing apartment turnovers as part of a team, ensuring that Onward-owned and managed properties are ready for new residents. This role involves a variety of tasks, including retiling, flooring installation, drywall repairs, painting, and other minor renovations, to ensure apartments meet Onwards operational standards. The Renovator plays a key role in maintaining the safety, functionality, and aesthetic standards of our properties while supporting a positive experience for new residents.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Unit Turnover and Renovations
- Perform renovation tasks during unit turnovers, including retiling, installing new flooring, repairing or replacing drywall, and painting, to ensure the apartment is move-in ready.
- Complete minor repairs to plumbing, electrical, and fixtures as required during the turnover process.
- Install or replace baseboards, trim, and cabinetry, as needed.
- Ensure that all apartments are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness, functionality, and safety before new residents move in.
Property Maintenance and Upkeep
- Conduct regular inspections of vacant units to identify and address any maintenance needs during the turnover process.
- Maintain and manage an inventory of materials, tools, and equipment needed for renovations and unit turnover tasks, ensuring they are readily available and well-maintained.
- Assist with general property maintenance and repairs as required to maintain the overall condition of Onwards properties.
