ROLE SUMMARY

The Marketing & Communications Manager is responsible for leading and implementing creative, effective, and faith-aligned communications and marketing strategies that support TWR Canadas mission. This role balances strategic oversight with hands-on execution in content creation, storytelling, donor engagement, brand management, digital presence, and organizational messaging. The successful candidate will be a highly collaborative team player with strong technical design and writing capabilities, as well as experience in managing multi-channel campaigns and developing partner-focused content.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy, Planning & Brand Oversight:

  • Lead the development and execution of the organizations marketing and communications strategy in alignment with ministry goals
  • Oversee brand consistency and voice across all communication platforms, ensuring alignment with TWR Canadas mission and values
  • Manage and develop internal communication tools, external messaging, and promotional campaigns

Content Development & Storytelling:

  • Plan and create compelling written and visual content for donor communications, stakeholder updates, fundraising campaigns, newsletters, direct mail, annual reports, digital ads, and more
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather and tell transformational ministry stories that reflect the impact of TWR Canadas global work
  • Copyedit and review materials for accuracy, tone, and faith-aligned messaging

Digital & Social Media:

  • Maintain and grow TWR Canadas online presence through website content, blog posts, social media, email campaigns, and multimedia assets
  • Coordinate the development of content for digital campaigns, special initiatives, and partner engagement
  • Monitor web and social media analytics to inform strategy and improve performance

Design & Production:

  • Design and produce print and digital materials including donor appeals, brochures, reports, event signage, social media graphics, and promotional materials using Adobe Creative Suite
  • Maintain brand guidelines and ensure high-quality visual design in all outputs
  • Coordinate print production and liaise with vendors as needed

Campaigns & Donor Engagement:

  • Develop and support donor communication strategies across all giving channels including direct mail, online fundraising, monthly campaigns, partner initiatives, email appeals, and more
  • Collaborate with donor relations and development staff to support storytelling and partner engagement tools
  • Provide communication resources to other departments and regional ministry leads

Management & Coordination:

  • Supervise team members and contractors as assigned (e.g., writers, designers, media specialists)
  • Project manage all marketing and communications workflows from concept through to delivery
  • Ensure that timelines, quality standards, and budget requirements are met for all initiatives

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated commitment to TWR Canadas mission and Christian values
  • Strong visual design and writing skills with experience in storytelling and donor communication
  • High proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), Microsoft Office, and social media platforms
  • Skilled in content management systems, email marketing platforms, and social scheduling tools
  • Experience managing integrated marketing campaigns and brand development
  • Strong attention to detail and editorial accuracy
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities
  • A collaborative spirit and ability to lead and support team members
  • Familiarity with nonprofit or ministry communications is essential, with ability to share faith-based messages clearly and respectfully

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Degree or diploma in Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a marketing or communications role, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management capacity
  • Experience developing strategy and implementing marketing plans in nonprofit, faith-based, or donor-driven environments strongly preferred

LOCATION & COMPENSATION

  • Permanent, full-time position (40 hours/week), during core business hours, Monday to Friday, based in our London, Ontario office
  • No travel expectations: however, occasional evening or weekend hours may be required for TWR events
  • Salary range commensurate with education and experience
  • Benefits package includes dental, extended health care, life insurance, and Employee Assistance Program (EAP), available after the probationary period
  • RRSP contributions and three weeks vacation per year, pro-rated based on the start date

The Marketing and Communications Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategic marketing and communication plans to elevate brand awareness, support organizational goals, and engage stakeholders. This role oversees internal and external communications, manages brand consistency, and ensures alignment across all Brimacombes touchpoints.

As a departmental leader and a member of our Management Team, you will play a key role in defining the culture of our organization and developing positive guest experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Marketing Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and implement integrated marketing strategies that align with business objectives.
  • Plan and manage marketing campaigns across digital, print, social media, and traditional platforms.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, target audiences, and growth opportunities.
  • Track and analyze campaign performance, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Oversee the development of promotional materials and brand assets.

Communications Management

  • Create and manage internal and external communication strategies.
  • Draft, edit, and distribute press releases, newsletters, reports, memos and messaging.
  • Serve as the point of contact for media inquiries and public relations efforts.
  • Ensure consistent messaging and tone of voice across all communications in line with brand standards.

Advertising, Digital Marketing & Content Creation

  • Oversee content creation for web, blog, email campaigns, and social media.
  • Create engaging content, including snow condition updates, event promotions, and behind-the-scenes stories.
  • Manage website content and ensure accurate and timely updates (e.g., hours, trail conditions, operational updates, rates)
  • Manage website updates, SEO strategies, and online reputation.
  • Monitor digital analytics and adjust tactics to improve engagement and reach.

Brand Management & Partnerships

  • Maintain and enforce brand guidelines to ensure consistency in visual identity and messaging.
  • Work with out-of-house design and content teams to produce cohesive marketing collateral.
  • Manage relationships with vendors, partners and associations.
  • Develop and maintain corporate, community and local accommodation discounts for Member Perks Program
  • Create and maintain partnerships with local and provincial levels of tourism, community partners, industry partners and organizations Ski Canada, CADS, Brimacombe Racing etc.
  • Fulfill and track community relations initiatives.

Event & Campaign Management

  • Plan and coordinate marketing events, product and service launches, and community engagement initiatives.
  • Attend community events/fairs, trade shows, conferences, and industry events as needed.
  • Create sponsorship and partnership opportunities for vendors.

Administration

  • Ensure accurate record-keeping and documentation.
  • Create and manage allocated budget, including invoicing.
  • Submit reports as needed to Indoor Operations Manager and General Manager.
  • Administering surveys and analyzing data to present to relevant department heads.

Team Collaboration & Leadership

  • Manage and mentor a team of marketing and event staff, as well as volunteers (as applicable).
  • Assist with the development of staff training materials and subsequent training sessions in conjunction with management team.
  • Collaborate with all department managers to support cross-functional projects.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in marketing or communications; not-for-profit or outdoor recreation experience is a strong asset.
  • Management or Supervisor experience considered an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt in a fast-paced, seasonal environment.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Google) and email marketing (MailChimp or similar).
  • Strong content creation and design skills with a proficiency in Canva, Adobe, or similar.
  • Website management skills (e.g., WordPress, SquareSpace) with basic HTML skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute tactically in a fast-paced environment.

Bonus Skills (Preferred but Not Required):

  • Photography/videography or drone content creation.
  • Familiarity with ticketing or POS systems used in ski operations.
  • Knowledge of ski culture and snow sports industry trends.
