Insight Global is seeking a Cybersecurity Business Analyst to join one of Calgary's leading energy companies on a contract, full-time basis. This is a fully remote role. The ideal candidate will support a portfolio of cybersecurity initiatives and start during the definition phase of project scoping and documentation. This resource would be expected to assist with projects through execution in the following year. The team consists of PMs, BAs, solutions architects and SMEs with a focus on both IT and OT environments, including industrial systems (ICS and SCADA).
Responsibilities Include:
-Gather and analyze business and technical requirements through stakeholder engagement.
-Translate requirements into clear technical specifications and user stories.
-Collaborate with development and project teams to design and deliver IT solutions.
-Support full project lifecycle including QA, UAT, training, and deployment.
-Assist in evaluating solution options and contribute to proposal activities.

- 10+ years of hands on BA experience in cybersecurity projects
- Skilled at coordination with multiple SMEs in complex environment
- Strong experience in deploying cybersecurity applications/processes (IAM and network security)
- Experience working on projects in ICS/SCADA environments
- Strong interpersonal and soft skills - CBAP
- CISSP
- Oil/gas experience null

Position Title : Security Analyst

Location : Regina, SK

Overview :

Charter is currently seeking one (1) experienced Security Analyst to join our team starting October 2025. The ideal candidate will have 5+yrs of recent experience in cybersecurity and/or network security in an enterprise IT environment. Previous experience in incident response, detect, investigate, and mitigate security threats is required. Strong experience in network security and protocols (TCP/IP, VPN, firewalls, IDS/IPS) and utilizing security tools (i.e. SIEM: Sentinel, antivirus, vulnerability scanners). Experience in risk assessment, risk management, and implementing effective security solutions is an asset. Location: Regina, SK (Onsite). Term: 24 months. Strong possibility of extension.

Responsibilities :

  • Manage and respond to security incident tickets via ServiceNow.
  • Analyze the potential impact of new threats and communicate risks to relevant business units.
  • Create and maintain security reports, i.e., Risk Management Decision Item (RMDI), incident reports, HR investigations, and lost/stolen reports.
  • Perform root cause analysis of the incident and take prompt actions.
  • Analyze cyber security incidents to solve issues and suggest improvement.
  • Create detailed reports and documentation of all incidents and procedures to the stakeholders on a routine basis.
  • Support the execution and monitor of phishing simulation exercises, including user targeting, response tracking, and reporting.
  • Respond to and resolve Privilege Access Management (PAM) related activities and service requests within defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Qualifications and Experience :

  • Experience working in the IT sector within the cybersecurity or networking fields within the past five (5) years
  • Experience in network security and protocols (TCP/IP, VPN, firewalls, IDS/IPS).
  • Experience utilizing security tools and platforms (i.e., SIEM systems like Sentinel, antivirus, vulnerability scanners).
  • Experience in operating systems and platforms (Windows, Linux).
  • Experience in incident response, detect, investigate, and mitigate security threats.
  • Experience in risk assessment and management techniques for evaluating risks and implementing effective security solutions.
  • Experience in compliance and regulations, i.e., ISO 27001 and NIST security frameworks, privacy legislation, etc.
  • Experience in scripting and automation (e.g. Python, PowerShell, Bash).
  • Experience in penetration testing and ethical hacking is considered an asset.
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in a related field and active Networking/cybersecurity certifications (i.e., Network+, Security+, CISSP, CEH, GSEC) is considered an asset.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) in English is required.
  • Must be authorized to work in Canada.

We are searching for a dedicated Fraud and Security Analyst to play a pivotal role in protecting the integrity of our platform. This role is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and mitigating fraudulent activities and security threats within the organization. This role involves monitoring transactions, investigating suspicious activities, implementing fraud prevention strategies, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The analyst works closely with compliance, risk, and technology teams to enhance security protocols and protect the organization from financial crimes.

Key Responsibilities:

Fraud Monitoring & Investigation:

  • Monitor transactions and user activities to detect potential fraud, financial crimes, or security threats.
  • Conduct detailed investigations on flagged transactions, customer accounts, and system anomalies.
  • Utilize fraud detection tools and analytics to assess risk and prevent unauthorized activities.

Security & Risk Mitigation:

  • Identify emerging fraud trends and security risks, providing recommendations for mitigation strategies.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of fraud prevention and security policies.
  • Support cybersecurity teams in detecting and responding to security threats.

Regulatory Compliance & Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance with AML (Anti-Money Laundering), KYC (Know Your Customer), and other regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and submit reports on suspicious activities to regulatory bodies as required.
  • Maintain documentation related to fraud cases, investigations, and security incidents.

Collaboration & Training:

  • Work cross-functionally with compliance, legal, IT, and risk management teams to strengthen fraud prevention efforts.
  • Assist in training internal teams on fraud awareness, prevention strategies, and security best practices.
  • Participate in audits and provide insights into security enhancements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, cybersecurity, criminal justice, or a related field.
  • Experience in fraud analysis, financial crimes investigation, or security operations.
  • Familiarity with fraud detection tools, risk management frameworks, and AML/KYC regulations.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and investigative skills.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to incidents promptly.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications such as CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner), CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist), or similar.
  • Experience in cryptocurrency fraud, fintech security, or digital payments fraud detection.
  • Knowledge of analytical tools for fraud investigation.
