We’re seeking a Maintenance & Operations Technician with 2-3 years of experience, who can operate, maintain, troubleshoot production equipment as well perform preventative maintenance.

What You’ll be Doing

• Operate and maintain production equipment, including:
  • Pellet mills
  • Form-and-fill machines
  • Bagging equipment
  • Mixing equipment
• Perform mechanical troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and repairs on mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems.
• Support GMP and HACCP implementation, documentation, and compliance.
• Maintain extreme organization and cleanliness within the facility.
• Optimize production flows to increase output without compromising quality.
• Assist with basic production coordination and operational oversight.
• Contribute to capital project implementation and facility expansion efforts.

What We’re Looking For

• 2-3 years of experience in mechanical maintenance in feed or food manufacturing
• Millwright or equivalent technical certification preferred.
• Hands-on experience with pellet mills, mixers, packaging lines, and related production equipment.
• Proven track record of high-output production with strict quality control .
• Strong troubleshooting skills with mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems.
• Familiarity with GMP and HACCP procedures .
• Background in capital project implementation and/or facility expansion during rapid growth phases.
• Basic leadership or supervisory experience an asset.

Summary:

The Manager, Maintenance Operations oversees the daily operations of the Maintenance Department, and is responsible for the planning, implementation, monitoring, sanitation and control of all facility infrastructure, systems, and equipment, including all associated contract services, maintenance, repairs, capital projects, acquisition/disposition, and administration thereof.

Reporting to the Manager, Maintenance Operations are the Facility Maintenance Supervisor, Millwrights, Electricians, HVAC Technicians, Maintenance Mechanics, Maintenance Planner, and Maintenance Clerks. This role provides clear leadership, direction, and prioritization of maintenance activities, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance across the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

· Supervise and lead unionized Skilled Trades staff, Maintenance Planner, and Clerks.

· Review and close corrective and preventive maintenance (PM) work orders, evaluate requests, and create new work orders as required.

· Manage staff schedules, including time-off requests, attendance, and overtime.

· Respond to and prioritize maintenance requests from other departments, assigning appropriate resources.

· Monitor monthly repair and maintenance expenditures, ensuring alignment with budget.

· Review, approve, and maintain department documentation, initiate change controls and deviations when necessary.

· Ensure compliance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement; provide coaching, performance management, and discipline as required.

· Support the implementation of capital projects and equipment purchases within budget.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

· Minimum 10 years of Red Seal skilled trade experience; background in pharmaceutical or food manufacturing environments is an asset.

· Minimum 5 years in a supervisory role managing 10+ direct reports.

Education, Certification, Licenses & Registrations:

· High school diploma (Grade 12) required.

· Red Seal certification required.

Skills Required:

· Strong decision-making skills with the ability to communicate and execute effectively.

· Excellent organizational skills; able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

The Foreman, Highway Maintenance Operations, under the direction of the Superintendent, will oversee staff and the proper allocation of resources to ensure work is being performed according to contract. The successful candidate must possess a valid Class 1 or 3 Drivers license, proven knowledge of Provincial transportation specifications, five+ years of experience in the maintenance industry, and must reside within a reasonable commute of Flatbush, AB. A company vehicle will be provided for commuting to and from the site.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Promote and monitor compliance with required legislation, including safe operation of equipment, National Safety Code, and Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
• Promote company policies, procedures, and ethical standards and implement measures to ensure employee compliance.
• Oversee operations to ensure that work is being performed according to established performance criteria.
• Facilitate employee training, to meet LaPrairie program objectives and legislative requirements.

This is a contract role for approximately 12 months. Reporting to the Operations & Maintenance Manager, the O&M Lead is a client-facing, technical subject matter expert and a frequent on-site representative of PowerON, responsible for supporting the operation and maintenance of EV charging infrastructure, battery storage, and electrical distribution systems, including developing on-site maintenance and commissioning activities. This position will lead commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimization of electrification systems while working closely with clients, engineers, third-party engineers, O&M contractors, technicians, electricians, OEMs, and software providers. This role requires a strong electrical background, extensive field experience, and the ability to provide technical expertise and recommendations in maintenance, commissioning, and system diagnostics.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·    Oversee commissioning, diagnostics, and troubleshooting of EV charging infrastructure and electrical systems.

·    Ensure all safety protocols are strictly followed on site by contractors, operators, and anyone working around the charging infrastructure.

·    Design and sign-off on functional performance tests and define success criteria based on O&M data, customer input, and OEM technical material.

·    Develop and maintain standardized checklists, commissioning reports, and SOPs for O&M activities.

·    Oversee corrective and preventative maintenance per manufacturer guidelines, conduct quality checks, and track results.

·    Provide technical advice and guidance pertaining to all maintenance and commissioning activities

QUALIFICATIONS:

·    Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related technical field.

·    7+ years of relevant experience in on-site technical guidance to trades, OEM representatives and contractors field personnel.

·    Journeyperson Electrician License or extensive experience with on-site performance of electrical duties.

·    Ontario Professional Engineering License (P.Eng.) (an asset).

·    Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician (CMRT) or related certifications would be ideal.

·    ESA Electrical Safety Certification or related certifications would be ideal.

·    Experience with CMMS, and other maintenance management software is an asset.

·    Extensive knowledge working with OSHA regulations.

·    Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manufacturer manuals.

·    Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and organized with strong problem-solving skills.

·    A team player who can collaborate across multiple teams in a dynamic environment.
