POSITION SUMMARY
The Supervisor, Warehousing Solutions leads and promotes a safety culture, an engaged workforce and exceptional service at the facility. The majority of the Supervisor's time is spent out on the floor providing direction to the warehouse team and coaching employees on safety, service and productivity. They supervise and lead the warehouse team by monitoring, measuring, coaching and developing individual and team performance. They monitor daily metrics and implement improvements to operations in pursuit of operational excellence, a safe workplace, and an exceptional customer experience.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
Safety & Compliance
+ Leads and promotes a culture where Health & Safety is the #1 priority. Provides leadership and support for Health & Safety initiatives at the facility.
+ Works with warehouse team to ensure compliance with the company's health and safety policies, and related legislation.
+ Operates within and ensures full compliance with the Code of Business Conduct, company policies and procedures, and all statutes and legislation governing the workplace.
+ Reports engineering/maintenance issues to Chief Engineer for resolution, and follows up as needed to ensure they are addressed in a timely manner to reduce the impact on operations.
+ Evaluates safety, security and housekeeping levels on a daily basis by reviewing warehouse operations to ensure warehouse is clean, secure and well organized, and that damage to product, equipment and facility is prevented.
+ Works with regional Health & Safety leads to implement health & safety incident prevention programs.
+ Works with Food Safety lead to implement and maintain Cold Chain Assurance programs such as HACCP, including program development, ensuring compliance, employee training and compliance reporting.
People Leadership
+ Leads daily warehouse operations by prioritizing activities, and providing leadership, coaching and direction to the warehouse team. Aligns department and individual efforts to the vision, mission, strategy and culture.
+ Assists the Manager, Warehousing Solutions in developing and leading regular site communication sessions to review safety initiatives, site performance and other local initiatives.
+ Monitors, measures, coaches and develops performance of direct reports, ensures adherence to policies and procedures, provides recognition, evaluates and provides feedback on performance, addresses complaints and resolves problems.
+ Participates in the hiring, training and development of staff.
+ Leads or participates in establishing work schedules and ensures that they are correctly implemented and that jobs are assigned and completed effectively. Tracks daily attendance of warehouse employees, including sick days, vacation and floater days. Monitors attendance and addresses attendance management issues.
+ Spends 80-90% of their day on the floor monitoring, directing and coaching employee performance on Safety, Service and Productivity.
Customer Experience
+ Leads their team in providing the highest levels of service to all customers with whom they interact, whether internal or external, with the goal of continuously improving the customer experience.
+ Measures and reports on customer experience standards and metrics for all accounts and works with facility team to meet/exceed these standards.
+ Implements improved operational processes that enhance capabilities to meet/exceed service standards.
+ Ensures organizational adherence and accountability to standard operating procedures.
+ Ensures that customer orders are picked & shipped in a timely fashion within prescribed cost levels.
Operational Excellence
+ Establishes operational goals and priorities in partnership with the Manager, Warehousing Solutions.
+ Tracks Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) by shift to monitor performance. Works with the Manager, Warehousing Solutions to review KPIs regularly and make adjustments and improvements according to results.
+ Manages inventory, including ensuring proper stock rotation, assisting in physical inventory counts as required, conducting reconciliations, ensuring that customer orders are picked and shipped in a timely fashion within prescribed cost levels and supervising the checking of incoming and outgoing freight for proper counts and codes.
+ Supports and assists the Manager, Warehousing Solutions in all cost control measures, which include overtime management, expense control and productivity.
+ Supervises the checking of incoming & outgoing freight for proper counts, damage & codes. Processes returns. Leads the investigation of any overages/shortages and reports back to Manager, Warehousing Solutions.
+ Prepare employee schedules to ensure the workflow meets or exceeds Key Performance Indicators.
+ Ensures the efficient & safe operation of all material handling equipment.
+ Provides proactive, on-the-floor supervision of warehouse staff.
+ Completes all necessary records & reports in a timely & accurate fashion. Makes recommendations to the management team to improve operations.
+ Provides ongoing training, direction and coaching to warehouse staff to ensure all accessorial activities are logged and captured for the purposes of operational visibility and accurate customer billing.
+ Continuously grows and develops operational knowledge and leadership capabilities by participating in professional development opportunities.
+ Performs other duties as assigned in accordance with the company vision, mission, strategy and culture.
**KEY REQUIREMENTS**
+ Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a frontline supervisory role in a warehouse/logistics environment.
+ University or college education; a focus in Operations, Logistics or related field.
+ First Aid certification is an asset.
+ Excellent people leadership abilities and a dedication to continuous improvement.
+ Approachable, positive demeanor with a hands-on and team-oriented work style.
+ Experience working in an environment with pick and ship processes as well as high volume computer generated inventory control (barcoding, RF).
+ Knowledge of HACCP.
+ Commitment to health and safety in the workplace.
+ Proven ability to supervise a team working in a fast-paced warehouse environment to ensure accuracy, compliance and a team culture of excellence.
+ Driven to provide exceptional customer service.
+ Strong interpersonal skills including leadership, conflict resolution and team building abilities.

+ Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Position Overview:  The Operations Supervisor plays a key onsite leadership role in supporting Seaboard’s operational presence at Teck mine locations. Acting as the face of Seaboard at Coal Valley and Highland Valley Copper (HVC), this position provides daily direction and support to drivers, ensures operational discipline, and fosters a strong safety and service culture. The role is accountable to Seaboard’s management team and is central to maintaining productivity, compliance, and effective customer relationships at the mine sites.

Responsibilities:

  • Represent Seaboard onsite at Teck operations, accountable to the Seaboard management team.
  • Provide daily leadership and direction to drivers onsite, ensuring safe and efficient operations.
  • Manage onsite challenges related to driver operations, asset readiness, and inventory management.
  • Monitor and ensure proper operation and maintenance of company assets by drivers and technicians.
  • Support asset management and maintenance programs with both local and remote service teams.
  • Establish and maintain operating discipline around Seaboard and Teck processes (e.g., daily Proof of Delivery submissions).
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (PLAYBOOK).
  • Promote a culture of safety, service excellence, and operational performance.
  • Oversee day-to-day resource needs including driver availability and equipment readiness.
  • Achieve daily targets for asset utilization and productivity.
  • Ensure consistent and effective communication with mine supervisors and customers; escalate concerns as necessary.
  • Build and maintain strong face-to-face relationships with mine site supervisors.
  • Actively engage in discussions around operational wins, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Resolve customer concerns in a professional and solutions-focused manner.
  • Foster a respectful, driver-centric culture that aligns with Seaboard’s operational goals.
  • Support a high-retention work environment that attracts top driving talent.
  • Ensure full compliance with company and regulatory processes (e.g., retorque, preventive maintenance, Hours of Service, speed compliance).
  • Partner with HSE Coordinators and management in responding to safety and environmental incidents.
  • Encourage a culture of cost-awareness and ownership.
  • Participate in driver recruitment, onboarding, and retention efforts.
  • Oversee training initiatives on and around mine sites.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate mechanical service support when required.
  • Assist with driver development, performance management, and, when necessary, disciplinary processes.
  • Act as a first line of response to customer complaints or service disruptions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Valid Class 1 Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract.
  • 3–5 years of relevant transportation, logistics, or mine site operations experience.
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and compliance.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, evaluate, and support drivers.
  • Self-motivated and effective in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Position Available

Operations Supervisor

As part of our team, you’ll: 

  • Daily Site Operations: Oversee and manage day-to-day yard and transloading operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant handling of fluids, petroleum products, and dry bulk materials.
  • Staff Management: Lead, supervise, mentor, and provide training and performance management for all site personnel to achieve operational goals.
  • Safety Leadership: Enforce health, safety, and environmental regulations; conduct regular site inspections and daily toolbox meetings to maintain a strong safety culture.
  • Scheduling and Logistics Coordination: Plan and coordinate inbound rail shipments and outbound trucking schedules to optimize operational flow.
  • Customer and Partner Relations: Serve as the main point of contact for clients and third-party trucking partners, delivering high levels of customer service and resolving operational issues promptly.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor, track, and manage inventory levels, including tank levels and transloaded goods, ensuring accuracy and accountability.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare, maintain, and submit operational reports, including shipment records, inventory levels, and safety compliance logs.
  • Equipment Oversight: Ensure all equipment is properly operated, maintained, and repaired as necessary to minimize downtime and maintain efficiency.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously identify opportunities to enhance operational processes, increase efficiency, and reduce costs.
  • Problem Solving: Proactively identify and resolve operational challenges to minimize disruptions to site activities.
  • Outdoor Work: Actively participate in and oversee operations outdoors in various weather conditions to support site activities and staff.


What You Bring to the Table:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years in a supervisory role within the rail, trucking, oilfield, or transportation industry.
  • Equipment Operation: Proficient in operating equipment such as skid steers and front-end loaders.
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of transloading processes, including rail-to-tank, rail-to-truck, and truck-to-tank operations. Previous rail experience will be considered as an asset.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage teams in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with staff, management, and clients.
  • Problem-Solving & Mechanical Aptitude: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to perform minor equipment repairs is considered an asset.
  • Safety Focus: Demonstrated experience in enforcing safety protocols and leading toolbox meetings; strong commitment to workplace safety.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
  • Certifications: Valid safety and transportation certifications (e.g., IROR or equivalent), and ABSA-accredited boiler certification.
  • Physical Requirements: Capable of performing physical tasks and working outdoors in various weather conditions.


Work Schedule:

Full-time, Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime as needed. On-site attendance is required.

  • Maintain the accounts cleaning requirements at a consistent, optimum level of efficiency.
  • Ongoing training of hourly paid staff in the correct procedures of cleaning, according to the company’s policies and procedures, and WHMIS training on hazardous chemicals in the workplace.
  • Advise the Director of Operations of any changes in building requirements that may necessitate changes in the work schedule or invoicing, (i.e. tenant vacancies).
  • Establish work schedule and maintain accurate daily records of hours worked by each employee on time sheets and submit timesheets to branch payroll in timely manner.
  • Supervise, lead, motivate and develop employees within assigned duties
  • Advise the branch office of all new or terminated employees and ensure that all employment documentation is properly completed.
  • Conduct inspections of buildings to ensure work is being carried out in accordance with procedures. Implement corrective action when necessary.
  • Ensure that security reports are prepared on any damaged articles, breakage, burned out lights or any unusually circumstances or accidents which may have occurred.
  • Ensure that periodic work is scheduled and completed on time in accordance with the account requirements.
  • Obtain all special requests from the clients and ensure that Director of Operations is notified so that requests are carried out promptly and efficiently.
  • Report to Director of Operations and Office Manager any issues for any employee injured on the job.
  • Ensure that an employee “Spares List” is maintained for replacement of absent employees.
  • Order supplies as per company policies and procedures and ensure proper control over stock at all times.
  • Maintain a record of all equipment and ensure all equipment is kept clean and serviced.
  • Other related duties as assigned by Director of Operations.

Qualifications:

  • High school or equivalency.
  • Five years in the service industry, experience in the cleaning/janitorial industry is preferred.
  • Cost management of budget items for labour and supplies, ability to monitor and modify for improvement, explain variances.
  • Understanding of workplace rules, dealing with employees, and health and safety legislated requirements.
  • Experience in a unionized workplace.
  • Experience in hiring, training and performance monitoring/discipline of staff.
  • Ability to communicate comfortably with clients at all levels, basic writing skills.
  • Entry level computer skills – Excel, Word.
  • Ability to work with hand-held computer technology for Q.A. auditing.
