General Description:
As an Operations Supervisor, you will play a critical leadership role within our Collections business unit, overseeing daily operations and ensuring the safe and efficient performance of our drivers. Your responsibilities will include conducting driver observations, leading monthly safety meetings, and maintaining compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
You will be responsible for ensuring that safety, compliance, customer service, growth, sales, and financial targets are consistently met. Strong leadership, ethical decision-making, and professionalism are essential to success in this role.
**Responsibilities:**
Supervise and manage the daily operations of multiple collection routes.
Review daily route sheets to assess financial and operational performance.
Conduct operational audits and on-road driver observations to ensure efficiency and compliance.
Ensure drivers complete daily safety and maintenance inspections for all company vehicles and equipment.
Collaborate with dispatchers to ensure timely deliveries, exchanges, and equipment repairs.
Plan and monitor employee schedules and route assignments, maintaining communication throughout the day until all routes are completed.
Lead the recruitment process, including interviewing, selecting, and training new employees.
Implement performance management processes, including progressive discipline as necessary.
Conduct thorough incident investigations, including scene management, first incident reporting, root cause analysis, and implementation of preventive measures.
Maintain and enforce Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) programs, including training, safety meetings, and compliance reporting.
Ensure full compliance with company safety policies, Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and other applicable industry guidelines.
**What We Need From You:**
High school diploma or equivalent.
Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role is preferred.
Possession of or willingness to obtain a valid Class 3 driveru2019s license (or higher) and compliance with all DOT regulations.
Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and MOE regulations.
Experience operating refuse collection equipment is an asset.
Strong data entry and analytical skills.
Union experience is an asset.
A SAFETY-FIRST mindset with a proactive approach to workplace safety.
Self-motivated with a strong ability to take initiative.
Must be able to pass all pre-employment requirements

As an Operations Supervisor, you will play a critical leadership role within our Collections business unit, overseeing daily operations and ensuring the safe and efficient performance of our drivers. Your responsibilities will include conducting driver observations, leading monthly safety meetings, and maintaining compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
You will be responsible for ensuring that safety, compliance, customer service, growth, sales, and financial targets are consistently met. Strong leadership, ethical decision-making, and professionalism are essential to success in this role.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Supervise and manage the daily operations of multiple collection routes.
+ Review daily route sheets to assess financial and operational performance.
+ Conduct operational audits and on-road driver observations to ensure efficiency and compliance.
+ Ensure drivers complete daily safety and maintenance inspections for all company vehicles and equipment.
+ Collaborate with dispatchers to ensure timely deliveries, exchanges, and equipment repairs.
+ Plan and monitor employee schedules and route assignments, maintaining communication throughout the day until all routes are completed.
+ Lead the recruitment process, including interviewing, selecting, and training new employees.
+ Implement performance management processes, including progressive discipline as necessary.
+ Conduct thorough incident investigations, including scene management, first incident reporting, root cause analysis, and implementation of preventive measures.
+ Maintain and enforce Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) programs, including training, safety meetings, and compliance reporting.
+ Ensure full compliance with company safety policies, Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and other applicable industry guidelines.
**What We Need From You:**
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role is preferred.
+ Possession of or willingness to obtain a valid Class 3 driver's license (or higher) and compliance with all DOT regulations.
+ Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and MOE regulations.
+ Experience operating refuse collection equipment is an asset.
+ Strong data entry and analytical skills.
+ Union experience is an asset.
+ A SAFETY-FIRST mindset with a proactive approach to workplace safety.
+ Self-motivated with a strong ability to take initiative.
+ Must be able to pass all pre-employment requirements

**Responsibilities:**
+ Provides overall CSC operational leadership by directing student transportation services, driver training and vehicle maintenance programs to support the operating plan and overall business goals.
+ Provides staff leadership by promoting and ensuring safe, efficient and effective operations
+ Monitors staff training requirements and ensure all employees obtain the required skills and abilities to perform their job assignments.
+ Sets performance expectations, coaches and counsels all direct reports in an effort to meet operational expectations; administers employee discipline as necessary.
+ Ensure overall compliance with Company policies and/or processes. Escalate violations of policy and procedures with General Manager and/or Corporate personnel.
+ Oversees compliance with state and district regulations
+ Attends meetings with School District Representatives and represents company in professional manner
+ Prepares and submits required customer-related reports in a timely manner.
+ Documents and manages customer or employee complaints and review customer survey data
+ Responsible for knowledge of CSC contracts and accompanying operational requirements.
+ Collects and audits employees' time sheets.
+ Manages direct and indirect hours to ensure budget requirements are met and collects and audits employees' time sheets as needed.
+ Examines and reviews the daily exception report.
+ Approves all expenditures in accord with company guidelines.
+ Ensures the effective utilization of vehicles.
+ Oversees the optimization of vehicle routing
+ Exhibits the highest ethical best practices and personal integrity; Shares concerns about suspicious or inappropriate behavior with their supervisor or manager
**Qualifications**
+ High School diploma or equivalent. Some college preferred.
+ 5+ years' work experience required, with 3 years in ground transportation industry preferred; this can be waived with a minimum of 1-year supervisory experience. College education can be substituted for up to 2 years required work experience.
+ Supervisory experience preferred; specifically experience supervising/training a driver workforce
+ Strong working knowledge of MS Office Software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) and transportation related software
+ Strong leadership skills and interpersonal skills
+ Strong organizational and group presentation skills
+ Well-developed multi-tasking and time management skills
+ Possess a valid Commercial Driver's License with appropriate endorsements
