Inspire Global Assessments (Inspire), formally known as the Nursing Community Assessment Services (NCAS), is a branded service of the BC College of Nurses and Midwives. The expected starting base salary for this position is $85,000 - $100,000 annually, depending on a variety of factors including qualifications and experience.
What you’ll be doing:
The UX Researcher at Inspire Global Assessments is responsible for conducting comprehensive market research and benchmarking to inform strategic decisions related to new project development, particularly for a virtualized assessment platform. This role provides expert guidance on user experience, market viability (various international markets), and advice on accessibility to deliver to our target customers and users.
Key responsibilities:
- Conduct market research to identify trends, competitive landscapes, and emerging opportunities within geographic location, industry, technology, and other relevant lenses.
- Analyze proposed solutions against the market analysis to provide insights on viability, market size, target audiences, and competitive positioning.
- Lead UX research activities, including interview samples, surveys, persona development, user journey maps, workflow diagrams, etc., as needed.
- Translate findings into actional UX/UI design recommendations for future product development.
- Advise on best practices for intuitive, accessible, culturally relevant, and aesthetically pleasing design.
- Collaborate with technical teams to ensure feasibility of the long-term design, scalability, and growth of the platform.
- Prepare reports and presentations with insights and analytics showcasing the market trends and user insights of current and future markets.
- Provide ongoing advisory support through the project development lifecycle to ensure a user-centric approach.
- Demonstrates a commitment to ongoing learning related to Indigenous cultural safety and humility and supporting organizational actions towards addressing indigenous-specific racism in BC’s health care system.
- Fosters and maintains an organizational culture that promotes equity, diversity and inclusion, mutual respect, teamwork, and service excellence.
What you’ll bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, human-computer interaction, design, or related field; master’s degree preferred.
- Provide experience (7+ years) in market research, business analysis, and UX Design.
- Strong understanding of user-centered design principles, including accessibility standards.
- Proficiency in market-research tools with global data and data analysis techniques.
- Experience with UX research methods (usability testing, user interviews, surveys, etc.).
- Ability to translate complex data and insights into clear, actionable recommendations by way of feasibility studies and recommendations.
- Familiarity with the healthcare industry is considered a strong asset.
- Demonstrated understanding of equity, diversity, inclusion, and cultural humility as they apply to health care is an asset.

Overview:
As a Quantitative Researcher, you will work with a team to develop a variety of signals, AI/ML models, and quant strategies for trading financial markets. As part of a small team with exposure to multiple areas of research, you will have the opportunity to rapidly grow your knowledge of quantitative investing and proprietary trading.
Requirements:
- An advanced degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance or a related field (MSc or PhD)
- Experience and knowledge of AI/ML and LLM models and technologies with application to Finance and Trading
- Programming proficiency in Python, SQL and C++
- Experience with derivative pricing, portfolio optimization, and quant investing
- Exceptional mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving ability
- Experience solving data-intensive problems is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to complete statistical or applied mathematical research is a plus
- Prior experience in a quantitative role within a trading environment is a plus
- Self-motivated and highly productive with a strong sense of urgency and accountability
