We are looking for an experienced **Sr. Systems Engineer** to manage and maintain our infrastructure services, primarily focusing on **Linux** systems and **VMware** virtualization environments. This is a hybrid role in our Ottowa office, supporting our data center and AWS environments.
**In this role you will.**
+ **System Administration** :

+ Configure and manage **replication technologies** for offsite data replication and failover.
**You've got what it takes if you have:**
+ 7+ years experience with knowledge of **Linux** (RHEL, CentOS, Rocky Linux), **VMware vSphere** , **ESXi** , **vCenter** , and other virtualization technologies.
+ Able to produce and maintain automation scripts in **scripting languages** such as PowerShell, Bash, Python and Ansible and Puppet
+ Experience configuring/troubleshooting **TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP** in production environments, and other core networking protocols
+ Experience in planning and implementing hardware upgrades, including **firmware updates,** and troubleshooting hardware failures.
+ Experience performing root cause analysis, troubleshooting system issues and implementing post‑incident corrective actions

Reporting to the Transit and Rail Lead, the primary focus of the role will be to apply Systems Engineering techniques to consulting and pre-design stages of systems delivery. Your Key Responsibilities
Our projects and opportunities are multi-discipline in nature and range from complex P3 projects to short term feasibility assignments - your key responsibilities include:
- Perform systems engineering principals including systems breakdown, integrations plans, interface control documents, requirements development and systems assurance.
- Provide systems engineering guidance across the entire Systems Engineering V-lifecycle.
- Provide preliminary and detail design of signaling & train control systems and related communication and supervisory systems.
- Develop and implement safety plans, conduct safety analyses, maintain hazard logs, and establish risk acceptance criteria.
- Prepare electrical schematics for wayside and on-board subsystems as well as control centre.
- Ensure the design package is completed and ready for procurement and construction.

- Prepare test procedures and commissioning plan for signal installation and operation.
- Understand and follow the client's documentation as well as regulatory codes and standards.

Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Comprehensive Knowledge of IEEE, AREMA, CROR, FRA, CENELEC and MIL standards.

- Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of systems engineering principles and best practices as outlined by the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE).

+ Strong knowledge of BAS software, hardware, and systems integration (e.g., Honeywell, Siemens, Johnson Controls, Schneider Electric).
+ Familiarity with industry standards and regulations (e.g., ASHRAE, ISO, LEED, OBC, CSA).
+ Experience with energy management systems and sustainable building practices is highly desirable.
+ Strong understanding of Mechanical and Electrical systems, network wiring standards and protocols, BAS system installation and design, and multiple system integration strategies and applications.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Job Description

As a Sr Advanced Systems Engineer here at Honeywell, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing advanced test solutions for our products.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to define system test requirements, design and develop test solutions, and ensure the successful integration of product with test solutions.
You will report directly to our Test Engineering Manager and you'll work out of our Mississauga, ON location on a hybrid work schedule.
In this role, you will impact the success of our engineering teams by providing technical guidance and support in the development and implementation of advanced systems. Your work will contribute to the overall performance and reliability of our products. You will be integral in creating system test solutions for electronic controllers that meet the evolving needs of our customers. You will be involved in every aspect of the systems test life cycle; from the front end of business development through product end of life.
**The Honeywell building is a controlled goods program environment. Candidates must be eligible for CGP clearance.**

**YOU MUST HAVE**
+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
+ Minimum of 5 years of systems test engineering
+ Minimum of 5 years of experience with C and/or Python programming skills.

+ Individuals that quickly analyze, incorporate and apply new information and concepts
+ Interact with diverse and global team
+ Advanced knowledge of Electronic Circuits-Analog and Digital

+ Advanced knowledge in A429, CANBus, RS485/422, Ethernet communication protocols and troubleshooting
+ Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done.
+ Ability to adapt dictated by project changes
+ Ability to multi-task and manage a team to complete complicated tasks.
+ PMP Certificate is a plus
+ Agile methodology project execution is a plus
+ Project Engineering Experience is a plus
