Responsibilities:
  • Safely operate a commercial vehicle and diligently perform all duties in a safe manner, including vehicle inspections. 

  • Efficiently manage customer base within established route.

  • Use application based handheld system to key transactions and manage customer data.

The Territory Representative opportunity delivers a comprehensive cleaning and food safety program developed specifically for the food retail industry, partnering with our customers to identify food safety risks and help prevent the spread of foodborne illnesses.

The Territory Representatives manage a territory of customers in the food retail sector and are responsible for the following:

  • Growing sales and retaining existing customers by providing service excellence
  • Gaining new sales through new products and new customers
  • Providing customers training on food safety and sanitation through high quality surveys and audits

What You Will Do:

  • Complete food safety audits based on the customer’s required visit frequency (monthly or quarterly) and evaluate each department for compliance
  • Facilitate the sale of Ecolab products by making suggestions for improvements with existing products and new innovations
  • Install and maintain equipment and collateral to ensure proper function and appearance
  • Complete the Serv-Safe/SuperSafeMark and CP-FS training and become certified
  • Develop and enhance existing relationships with customers while working independently and maintaining your own schedule

Position Details:

This is a field-based position and will require travel to the following locations and surrounding areas:

Territory: Gatineau, Abitibi, Outaouais, Laurentides and the surrounding areas

Applicants must live in Gatineau or close surrounding areas

Overnight Travel :  6-8 times per month

Weekend Rotation:   Based on business needs

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma. Post secondary education preferred.
  • 1-2 years of food industry experience. New graduates welcome!
  • Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record
  • Availability to provide emergency call assistance which may occur at night, on weekends and over holidays
  • Ability to travel to the US for training/meetings
  • No Immigration Sponsorship available

Physical Demands: Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds regularly

  • Meets with client representatives as scheduled or as needed to provide assurance that all security requirements are being met and to provide quality customer service. 
  • As assigned, in accordance with applicable company policies and procedures and in compliance with provincial and federal laws, carries out lead or supervisory duties that can include some or all of the following: interviewing, orienting and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; and making hiring and termination recommendations. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1 year minimum experience in the same role or similar.
  • Valid Ontario Security Guard license and First Aid & CPR.
  • Availability for day shifts with flexibility to support operational needs outside regular hours.
  • Knowledge in security strategies, principles, standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to provide positive direction and motivate performance. 
  • Ability to track and maintain schedule assignments. 
  • Ability to adapt to changes in the external environment and organization. 
  • Strong customer service and results orientation.
