Job responsibilities:
- Designing, developing and submitting the program and course outlines to the board of education (BC) for approval.
- Designing and updating the course along with related components in suitable formats, such as video, assessments, and teacher-led sessions.
- Developing comprehensive study plans, assessments, and supplementary materials that align with curriculum standards and learning objectives.
- Develop inclusive career-embedded curriculum, ensuring appropriate competencies and learning outcomes meet learner needs.
- Collaborating closely with members of the Product Development department, VP of College Development.
- Include references and links for any outside sources used.
- Develop an operational plan to run the program. This includes establishing the budget and sourcing materials and equipment, facility set up and staff recruitment and training.
- Develop internal and external relationships with career practitioners to support appropriate program development.
Qualifications
- Experience in working as a Mathematics teacher/instructor for high school/college
- Experience teaching or developing BC Educational Course
- Familiarity with BC Ministry of Education Curriculum Expectations, Growing Success, and Assessment Guidelines
- Academic program development/regulator approval experience is a must
- Five (5) years of full-time teaching experience (Required)

- Are you passionate about making a difference in the Math and Stats community? The Math and Stats Student Department Council is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic students to join our team! We have a variety of leadership and support roles available, each offering a unique opportunity to contribute to the student experience at Queen's University. Members will work alongside one another to support the DSC in event planning, ensuring the department is well supported academically by serving as a liaison between university officials and the student body, and more.

Time Commitment
8 month-term from September 2025 to April 30th, 2026 with a time commitment of 3-4 hours/week.

Role and Responsibilities:
Vice President (1)
- Assist the co-presidents in planning, organizing, and executing council events, meetings, and initiatives. Take on delegated tasks and provide strategic input to enhance council operations. Academics Director (1)
- Organize and schedule midterm review sessions for MATH 110 and MATH 120, ensuring they are well-structured and aligned with academic needs. Lead Academic Coordinators in running study sessions, overseeing their preparation, and ensuring effective delivery of academic support.
Treasurer (1)
- Financial Management: Oversee the student council's budget, manage funds, and maintain financial records.
- Handle payment processes, reimbursements, and manage council expenses, ensuring timely processing and documentation of all financial activities.
Secretary (1)
- Meeting Minutes: Record and distribute minutes from council meetings, maintaining an organized record of discussions and decisions.

Event Director (1)
- Plan and Execute Events: Oversee all aspects of event planning, including budgeting, advertising, and logistics, to ensure successful execution of department-wide events.

Event Coordinator (2)
- Support Event Planning: Assist in organizing and executing department-wide events, handling specific tasks such as logistics, promotion, and on-site management.
- Work under the Event Director to contribute to the successful planning and execution of events.
Communications Director
- Responsible for organizing and circulating a monthly math and stats newsletter. This includes conducting interviews with students and professors in the department, as well as promoting DSC events.
Communications Coordinator
- Responsibilities include supporting the communications director in putting together the newsletter, conducting interviews and promoting DSC events.
Academics Coordinator
- Responsible for running the MATH 110 and MATH 120 review sessions. Review sessions will be offered to students before midterms to go over practice problems and answer questions about course content. Coordinators will work together with the Academics Director to create content and lead the sessions.
Year Representatives (4 - 1 per Year)
- Promote Events: Actively present and promote upcoming events in lectures to engage students and encourage participation.
- Serve as a point of contact between the student council and your respective year, gathering feedback and sharing updates about departmental activities and events.
