**Nápln práce.**
+ Vypracovanie technických návrhov a projektovej dokumentácie pre oblast elektro, priemyselnej automatizácie, riadiacich systémov a silnoprúdu
+ Špecifikácia zariadení a návrh technologických riešení vzhladom na MaR a elektrické pohony podla požiadaviek investora v súcinnosti s ostatnými profesiami (strojné, technologické, elektro, stavebné),
+ Tvorba cenovej ponuky podla požiadaviek investora, technických rokovaní so zákazníkom, konzultácie návrhov a upresnovanie požiadaviek na podklady resp. protiplnenia,
+ Zadávanie dopytov na prístroje / zariadenia, vyjasnovanie a upresnovanie technických ponúk od dodávatelov prístrojov po technickej stránke, požiadaviek investora a v súlade s normami. (EN STN alebo podnikových noriem),
+ Pocas realizácie vykonávanie autorského dozoru t.j. kontrola montáže stavby podla technologických schém, zapojovacích schém a z hladiska dodržovania noriem a požiadaviek investora,
+ Odstranovanie porúch, odchýlok od projektu resp. spracovanie pripomienok investora k dokumentácií alebo k montáži,
+ Asistencia pri testoch elektrických obvodov a preberacích konaniach, vykonávanie funkcných skúšok

**Description**
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** include but are not limited to the following:
+ Collaborate with mechanical engineering to come up with a "sequence of operation", device locations etc.
+ Develop electrical AutoCAD drawings for control system in accordance with CEC, NEC, and applicable codes based on customer specification using AutoCad Electrical Software.
+ Develop and maintain a bill of materials.
+ Review with project manager, and make any necessary changes as required before submitting drawings.
+ Update drawings as required after customer approval, and as build.
+ Discuss and provide drawings and relevant information to electrician for machine wiring.
+ Make copy of technical literature to project manager for equipment manual.
+ Assist production personnel on machine run-off.
+ Collaborate with sales giving technical assistance.
+ On-site commissioning of equipment if required.
+ Adhere to all safety requirements and ensure that all designs are specified to follow all safety guidelines.
+ Adhere to all electrical codes.
+ Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
**REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES** :
+ Experience in Electrical AutoCAD design software.
+ Familiar with electrical codes: CSA, UL, CIC.
+ Strong analytical skills.
+ Ability to work in a team or autonomy driven environment.
+ Excellent computer skills.
+ Extensive oral and written communication skills.

Reporting to the Design Services Manager, responsibilities of the designer performing this role include supporting the technical direction for the overall project, interfacing with both external and internal customers including the Instrumentation and Controls Engineering department. The Design Services department uses such tools as AutoCAD®, AutoCAD Electrical®, IntEC® and Inventor® to create concept drawings, detailed designs, elementary drawings, BOMs, wiring diagrams and can also provide design replacement solutions for obsolete components such as relays, motors and circuit cards.
**RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Develop concept designs into detail drawings & bills of materials for equipment, sub-assemblies or product using CAD packages including AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, and Autodesk Inventor.
+ Work in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment with teams of Professional Engineers and Technologists.
+ Produce and update general assembly drawings, interconnection block diagrams, functional block diagrams, cable assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, wiring lists, and bills of material.
+ Selection of instrumentation, control, and power components based on Engineering requirements.
+ Participate in design reviews and occasional customer review meetings, providing resource information and design input.
+ Liaise with customer design and operations personnel to gather site-specific design information.
+ Assist others on specific projects.
+ Accountable for cost and schedule on assigned projects.
**REQUIRED:**
+ Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology diploma.
+ AutoCAD experience required, AutoCAD Electrical and Inventor experience an asset.
+ Must have excellent written and verbal English communication skills understandable by a diverse audience
+ Ability to work effectively with others.
+ Possess working knowledge of fundamental drafting technique.
+ Must be able to multitask and work with minimal supervision.
+ Competence in control system design and design processes.
+ Creative problem-solving skills, outstanding analytical abilities, demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work in a project team.
+ Intec or Online wiring experience is an asset
+ 3D parametric modeling experience is an asset.
+ Understanding of a broad range of interdisciplinary departments: mechanical, software design, systems engineering and manufacturing.
+ Creative problem-solving skills, outstanding analytical abilities, developing leadership skills and the ability to work in a team.

**Desired:**
+ Minimum of 5 years related experience in design of electrical systems with previous electrical and controls design drafting experience.
+ Experience in the CANDU Nuclear Industry.
+ Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) or greater qualification.
+ Membership in OACETT or other certifying organization.
+ Strong communication, presentation, and technical writing skills.
+ General understanding of Engineering Change Control (ECC) concepts for the nuclear industry or other industries.

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Designer (or Technologist) to join a dynamic EPC firm based in Calgary, AB.

As an Electrical Designer, you’ll join a firm that provides multi-disciplinary engineering solutions across industries such as oil & gas, petrochemical, refining, and manufacturing. With a strong focus on innovation, quality, and efficiency, the team works on projects of varying complexity and scale, ensuring successful project execution with cost-effective solutions.

What you’ll do as an Electrical Designer:

• Lead the electrical design team by mentoring young engineers, driving both conceptual and detailed design work while coordinating with multidisciplinary project teams.
• Develop comprehensive electrical drawings and specifications by reviewing P&IDs and package/skid drawings, producing drawing packages that include area classifications, single line diagrams, cable schedules, schematics, and layout plans.
• Oversee technical aspects by reviewing design documents, calculations, studies, specifications, and datasheets, and by serving as the discipline checker for all related calculations and drawings.
• Manage procurement and contractual responsibilities by understanding construction contract documents, evaluating RFQs, creating purchase orders, and handling general equipment requisitions.
• Provide essential support through the creation of wiring details, offering field construction assistance, and interfacing directly with clients to address design and technical issues.
• Serve as the project engineer on projects of various scales by tracking contract requirements, developing technical passports as needed, scheduling tasks to ensure quality delivery, and actively engaging in project interfaces.

What you’ll bring as an Electrical Designer:

• Possess a Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology.
• 7+ years of electrical design experience in the oil and gas and heavy industrial sectors.
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code, with additional exposure to the NEC as a beneficial asset.
• Maintain sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal abilities, and the capability to lead a small design team.
• Possess expert knowledge of LV and MV switchgear, MCCs, transformers, as well as motors, VFDs, and cables.
• Demonstrate proficiency in area classification, electric heat trace, and fire water systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Implement the design concept through the preparation of electrical detailed design, production drawings and schematics for industrial, commercial, and/or institutional buildings using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• Design and prepare layouts and specification for lighting, electrical distribution (single line diagrams), emergency power distribution, fire alarm, wiring diagrams, riser diagrams, cable, and panel schedules.
• Work alongside the project team and Project Manager to ensure quality and timely delivery of projects.
• Create technical reports, documentation, calculations, and sketches.
• Create specifications and equipment selection.
• Review shop drawings to confirm they adhere to project requirements.
• Consistently follow company policies, procedures, and file structures/formatting.
• Perform general duties as required such as printing, plotting, scanning, conversion, quantity take-offs and measurement.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Post-secondary Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field required.
• 4+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering for industrial, commercial, and/or institutional buildings.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) or Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) is an asset.
• Work experience designing HV substations, fire alarms, lighting, emergency power generation, MV and LV distribution systems, and large electrical systems.
• Knowledge of applicable codes and standards such as the Canadian Electrical Code, Ontario Building Code (OBC), and the Canadian National Building Code (NBC), etc.
• Ability to meet deadlines/successful completion of deliverables.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to work under pressure on various tasks.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
