What you will do to complete this mission successfully:
Management
- In collaboration with the Project Manager, manage all work activities on site
- Provide support to the Project Manager for insurance claims
- Prepare work cycles and developing detailed work schedules
- Supervise project facilities and site development
- Supervise suppliers, including turbine manufacturers, with respect to specifications, execution procedures and quality
- Follow up on technical relations with professionals and subcontractors, in collaboration with the Work Coordinators
- Prepare internal meetings on worker productivity, analyzing the rate of production specific to the various types of work and trades and issuing the progress report to management
- Ensure design follow-up with the consulting engineers, in collaboration with the Works Coordinator of the field of expertise concerned
Documentation
- Prepare estimates with the Coordinators of the relevant trades, contract documents and payment claims
- Update registers of technical documentation, general and technical data related to the projects and ensuring the control and conformity of the documents
- Verify the validity and obtain the necessary permits at the beginning of the work.
- Forward drawings issued for construction and oversee changes to final drawings related to the project
- Finalize the Monthly Report (MMM) with the help of the Coordinators and the Superintendent
- Ensure the completion of deliverables at the end of the project according to the progress of the work
- Finalize and transfer the contractual quality documents to the customer
Health & Safety
- Conduct site inspections prior to commencement of work
- Develop, in collaboration with the Site Health and Safety Advisor, the site safety program and participate in safety meetings and training sessions
- Provide information relevant to the follow-up of OHS incidents to the Project Manager's representative
- Participate, in collaboration with the Site Health and Safety Advisor, to the preparation of initial occupational risk analyses
- Collaborate with the Prevention Officer to ensure that all rules are respected on the site
Quality control
- Participate in the realization, the implementation and the application of the quality plan
- Conduct regular internal quality audits
- Support and approve the preparation of execution procedures, ensure their implementation and review with
- Coordinators and subcontractors
- List the good practice manuals needed for the project and ensure their implementation
- Ensure that building materials are inspected upon delivery and that reports are duly completed when required

Responsibilities
- Prepare, schedule, coordinate, assign, and monitor assigned engineering projects and delegated responsibilities.
- Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications.

About the Role:
The Project Mechanical Engineer is mandated to perform engineering projects and products from design to development and lead the execution, including plant and machinery start up. Project engineer is responsible for the design and improvement of processes to increase plant production efficiency and quality.
The project engineer will be required to travel to other company facilities to assist operation teams with any plant startups, equipment installation, operator training, factory acceptance tests and other engineering tasks.
Essential Job Functions:
• Research and provide engineering solutions that can be developed into feasible projects, manage, validate, maintain and improve efficiency for current manufacturing, equipment, tools and process.
• Evaluate and review machinery problems as well as conduct root cause analysis on equipment failures or downtime.
• Manage, assist, coach and train the maintenance team. Provide guidance for preventive and repair maintenance to ensure that the plant operations are able to meet output quotas and deadlines.

• Develop the design of new equipment or modify existing equipment.

Location: Toronto
General Accountability and Summary
This role will appeal to a collaborative individual, with a broad interest in and exposure to various aspects of engineering design and project management in the mining field. The individual will be motivated to play a role in taking TMG through its next phase of growth and development. Based in the Toronto Office and reporting to the Project Manager, the Project Engineer is responsible for various technical, administrative, business development, and project management functions related to TMG’s various project sites.
The successful candidate will be expected to spend at least twelve (12) of their first twenty-four (24) months with the company engaged on a long-term and site-based construction and/or commissioning mandate. This will involve a high degree of business travel to remote and/or hardship sites for up to eight (8) weeks at a time, depending on the location and assignment conditions. This may also involve living in a construction and/or mining operations camp on the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Establishes the reporting criteria, content and format for monthly status reports, cost variance reporting, forecasts, budget updates, change control notices, and monthly presentations to Owner management.
- Provides regular weekly and monthly reports with appropriate analysis to internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop execution plans and establish logic networks for sequencing of tasks related to engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction activities.
- Support the development of schedules for projects and studies.
- Analyze contractor schedules and prepare critical path task reports.
- Monitor contractor performance against established schedule targets.
- Expedite contractor deliverables and adherence to the schedule.

- Participation in the overall procurement process, including scope definition, specification preparation, datasheet population, tender evaluation and recommendation, contract award, kick-off meetings, and expediting both internal and external parties in order to meet the schedule requirements for various equipment packages.
- Follow-up with vendor representatives to verify that all technical documentation required for fabrication and shipment are submitted and reviewed in accordance with the project schedule.
- Participation in design and project execution review meetings.
- Preparation of various project deliverables including Scopes of Work, Technical Specifications, reports, engineering calculations, estimates, and financial models.
- Preparation of minutes of meeting for various project meetings and following up on action items with responsible personnel to ensure that items are closed out completely and on time.
- Regular travel to mine sites to meet with project stakeholders and/or long-term site assignments for construction and commissioning engagements may be required.
- Coordinate with the Owner Operations personnel for project feedback and execution support.
- Support one or more TMG Project Managers in a variety of project needs as required.
- Support TMG Corporate Business Development, Marketing, and/or Administrative tasks as required.

They currently have an opportunity for an experienced Project Engineer to join their team. As the ideal candidate, you will have experience handling client relationships through providing technical assistance, quotations and overseeing the successful execution of projects from start to finish. You will review estimate requests, identify project costs, production timelines, materials and labour cost estimates and contract proposals. You will come with a solid foundation of costing and product design experience and will be comfortable working on several projects at once. With a keen sense of detail and strong communication skills, you will have the ability to coordinate different parties involved in each project to ensure that they are delivering on what was promised.
Additional responsibilities will include:
- Maintain and build client relationships;
- Review RFQs and prepare quotes;
- Design and develop equipment and systems for efficient production;
- Prepare drawings and specifications;
- Plan, execute, and monitor projects, including procurement and budget management;
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams;
- Attend site visits and meetings as required;
- Perform other assigned duties, as necessary.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, P. Eng., or Mechanical Technologist;
- 5 years + in estimating and project management;
- 7 years + in engineering/manufacturing and equipment design and manufacturing environment will be a strong asset;
- Exposure to a wide range of manufacturing processes; cutting, machining, welding, fabrication, sandblast, paint, and assembly;
- Hold high quality and safety standards in workmanship;
- Excellent in prioritizing, planning, and execution of projects;
- Solutions oriented leader with excellent collaboration and communication ability;
- Strong understanding of project financials;
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically reading and creating spreadsheets in Excel;
- Strong attention to detail;
- Highly organized with the ability to multi-task and manage several projects at once;
- Proficient in AutoCAD and SolidWorks;
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.

Key Responsibilities
Office Tasks:
- Assist in the development of project cost estimates, proposals, and material take-offs.

Key Responsibilities
- Support DOF’s core business initiatives and those of DOF Subsea clients, Light Subsea Construction, Subsea Intervention, Decommissioning, Permanent Mooring Installation/Disconnection, Engineering Studies and Tenders) including lift rigging design and lift planning, equipment sea fastening design, and installation analyses specific to above core business initiatives;

Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor of Science degree in applicable engineering field of study (Civil, Mechanical, Ocean & Naval Architecture, Structural, or equivalent);
- Basic Survival Training (BST) would be an asset as there will be offshore work;
- Either working towards or has obtained a Professional Engineering licence;
- 3-7 years’ experience subsea project/installation engineering experience;
- Familiar with procedural writing as it pertains to offshore ROV construction works.
- Experience related to the supervision of equipment System Integration Testing and functionality testing;
- Experience performing project vessel mobilizations and demobilizations;
- Offshore field experience related to the installation and decommissioning of subsea infrastructure;
- Knowledge of specialized software would be an asset (Example- Ansys/Inventor- Structural/Mechanical Engineers, Orcaflex- Hydrodynamics- Subsea Engineers, etc.);
- Knowledge of the marine environment and technical challenges associated with executing projects in these conditions;
- Knowledge of subsea infrastructure components, deployment/recovery methodologies, equipment handling restrictions, testing requirements, etc.;
- Knowledge of DNV lifting and underwater deployment/recovery codes pertaining to marine operations;
- Analytical and technical capabilities specific to lowering analyses and rigging design would be an asset;
- General technical knowledge of sea fastening design and analysis (vessel motions & structural design);
- General knowledge of industry and regulatory standards, best practices, and design codes;
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite;
- Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills;
