- Advocate for clients and promote self-advocacy and client self-determination as appropriate
What we’re looking for:
- Master’s Degree in Social Work
- Registration with the College of Social Workers
- Trained in and experienced with CBT, CPT and DBT (hands on work preferred)
- Ability to work with a range of complex/comorbid mental health conditions and provide evidence-based approaches to treat them
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Effective computer skills
- Strong report writing skills with a high level of attention to detail
- Demonstrated skills and experience in assessment, treatment and research preferred

The OpportunityReporting to the Manager of Community Mental Health and Addictions, the Social Worker is a member of the interprofessional care team with the Eating Disorders Specific Care Clinic and is responsible for providing information, navigation, consultation and community outreach support to clients and families who are waiting for Eating Disorder services. The Community Outreach Navigator, Eating Disorders is a member of the interprofessional treatment team which consists of psychology, social work, nursing, dietitians and psychiatry. The Social Worker will liaise with client's local primary care team to connect and support their care while waiting for Eating Disorder services. The Social Worker will empathically and effectively engage clients and their families in the community, provide support, consultation and navigation as needed.

· Apply principles of equity, diversity, inclusion, anti-oppression, trauma-informed practice, and cultural safety in all client and community interactions.
· Facilitate health promotion, psychoeducation, and community development activities to build individual and community capacity.
· Maintain professional boundaries, ethical practice, and confidentiality in line with OCSWSSW standards of practice.
· Provide mentorship, clinical supervision (where applicable), and support the training of students, residents, or learners.

Educational and Professional Qualifications

We are looking for a Social Worker at the Quinte Detention Centre to provide vital assessment, rehabilitation, and discharge planning for individuals in custody. This is more than a job—it's an opportunity to be part of a team that values compassion, integrity, and transformative care.
Please note: This position may be required to work evenings, weekends and rotational shifts.
About the job- Formulate reintegration/release plans in collaboration with professional and community partners and inmates
- Provide crisis intervention services
- Prepare clinical assessments and statistical reports
- Collaborate on multidisciplinary care plans
- Facilitate group and individual rehabilitative programming
- Provide one-to- one counselling
- Participate in social work research activities and evaluate treatment programs and services

Mandatory requirements
- You are currently registered as a Social Worker in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW)
You:
- have in-depth knowledge of, and experience putting social work theories and practices into action, often gained through a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) or a Master of Social Work (MSW), to develop treatment plans, conduct therapy (individual and group), and manage crisis interventions.
- know risk assessment tools and rehabilitative/treatment options, and community services to support inmate classification and reintegration.
- understand how the justice system in Ontario operates.
- can interpret and apply relevant legislation and operational policies and procedures (e.g., Ministry of Correctional Services Act, Social Work and Social Service Work Act, Personal Health Information Protection Act).
You:
- engage with clients, staff, and community agencies.
- provide counselling and assessments for offenders with complex needs and build rapport with individuals from a range of diverse backgrounds.
- have experience working in multidisciplinary settings, with proven discretion and sensitivity in handling confidential matters.
- possess clear writing skills to prepare case documentation and reports.

- know how to gather, compile, and analyze data from multiple sources to identify inmate needs, develop and adjust treatment and case management plans, and apply rehabilitative and therapeutic interventions during crises.
