Job Responsibilities
Continually improve the productivity and quality of the production processes
Lead the Production department focusing on championing a change effort to improve cross functional opportunities for process and system enhancement by leveraging existing systems and developing proactive strategies
Ensure proper documentation and complete reports (compliance, checklists, work orders, spreadsheets, metrics, incident investigations, etc)
Effectively manage production budgets
Interface with Maintenance Department on downtime, shut down planning and winter preparation
Maintain a high level of awareness on safety and environmental compliance by understanding and representing all regulations, policies, procedures and work instructions
Improve housekeeping to ensure a healthy and safe working environment with an initial focus on controlling dust and heavy equipment reliability
Increase employee engagement and improve the labour relations climate through participation in continuous improvement (get suggestions, report problems, participate in team problem solving sessions)
Drive accountability for both results and actions of direct reports through education, motivation, documentation, development and behaviour based coaching
Work with Ministry of Energy, Mines and Natural Gas and internal control departments as required
Collaborate with Human Resources on all people related matters (labour relations concerns, hiring, apprenticeship program, training, recognition, attendance, performance, discipline etc.)
Drive consistency in approach and application of directives and strategies across all teams
Facilitate Root cause analysis (5 why, fishbone, etc) with production, engineering and maintenance
Work with the Maintenance Superintendent to increase the technical and process knowledge of the production team
Work with Provincial Government Ministries, as required
Plan, implement and direct a comprehensive, effective and cost efficient preventative maintenance program
Formulate and develop department goals and objectives in order to achieve a positive culture that demonstrates Companyu2019s core values.
Qualifications
8+ years in progressive industrial production leadership experience (crushing, screening, or mining experience an asset)
Bachelor of Engineering degree or similar or a suitable combination of experience and education
Some travel may be required (Canada and US)
Excellent time and project management, organizational, production planning, scheduling, and analytical skills
Demonstrated initiative and proven record of taking on projects in a proactive manner to reach strategic outcomes
Established PC & software skills in Microsoft Office applications
Experience with process safety management and creating a culture where all accidents are preventable
Highly developed communication, interpersonal, leadership, coaching, mentoring and people management skills
Proven ability to build morale, lead change and continually improve the performance of the team. Exhibits values of integrity, respect for others, teamwork, collaboration and accountability
Experience working in a unionized environment

We are looking for an experienced professional Production Manager who effectively manages all production deliverables. Displays strong ability for coordinating all resources and processes to ensure scheduled timelines are achieved. This position is overall responsible and accountable for each area of production and the related management operating system elements. Duties include but are not limited to the following.
- Develops and implements policies, standards and procedures for all manufacturing and assembly work performed in the production department.
- Organizes workflows to meet scheduled deadlines.
- Ensuring production is carried out according to high quality standards set by the organization.
- Works with the Maintenance department to accommodate routine and required maintenance.
- Utilizes the Management Operating System tolls to control daily schedule and address variances.

- Acts as liaison between management and workers.

- Motivates, develops and empowers direct reports through strong leadership and morale building.
- Ensures there is a balance of labour resources through forecasting.
- Promotes safe work environment through task specific training, risk assessment and accident prevention.
- Continuous review of processes to identify opportunities to increase customer value, utilize Management Operating System tools for continuous improvement.
- Supervise quality inspectors providing guidance and feedback, performs data analysis for root cause, submits detailed quality reports to executives, prioritizes Quality over quantity.
Requirements
- BA, education and experience in a related field
- 2-4 years' experience in manufacturing, management, project management position
- ERP, H&S Manager Training, Lean Certification, Microsoft Suite
- Organized, time management, attention to detail, results oriented

Job Summary:
The Production Manager is responsible for organizing and supervising work in the Production Department. Performs other duties as required and reports to the General Manager.
Essential Functions:
- Monitors and ensures implementation of recommended changes in work methods and/or equipment usage to improve labor utilization, production efficiency and department expenses.
- Leads, trains, and supervises the Production staff and departments.

Summary:
We are a leading manufacturer specializing in the production and assembly of critical fire safety equipment. Our product manufactured at this facility includes smoke detectors, fire alarm speakers, NEC devices, sounder bases, and duct detectors, all of which play a vital role in safeguarding lives and properties. The Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing the manufacturing and assembly processes within the facility. They ensure production runs efficiently and meets quality standards while adhering to schedules. Furthermore, the Production Manager will contribute to the success of the Mircom Group of Companies by directing the production team to meet customer needs and achieve standards related to cost, line efficiencies, waste, safety and productivity. The role is situated out of our Pointe Claire facility in Montreal, Quebec. Candidates should reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & ownership role to develop, implement and improve manufacturing assembly methods within a Lean manufacturing environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the production process.
- Monitor production schedules and adjust as necessary to meet customer demand and delivery deadlines.
- Planning and organizing production schedules for the production employees by creating and maintaining work instructions and Manufacturing Orders.
- To identify and implement cost reduction opportunities through process, component and finished goods design.
- Drive to establishing efficiency, work labor standards and perform process time studies when appropriate and/or required.
- Lead and drive the process of NPI in manufacturing by assisting engineering design department with electronic design and methods (SMT and Through Hole assembly, Testing and Final Assembly, DFT and DFM) to ultimately provide a high quality product while reducing waste and overall improve the efficiencies and lead times.
- Take leadership in selection and purchase of production equipment and installations
- Lead the process with operational problems affecting production and dealing with them in a systematic and methodical manner
- Provide manufacturing data required for operations.
- Liaising with suppliers and R/D department.
- Hiring, training and supervising staff.
- Lead and mentor production staff, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous learning.
- Implement and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve production performance.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of health and safety in manufacturing by training, incorporate safety awareness, encourage communications regarding safety concerns and enforce safety protocols.
Requirements and Skills:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical, Industrial or Business is an asset
- College Diploma or equivalency will be considered
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision, and yet be able to function well in a team environment.
- Electronic Production Management experience is an asset
- Certified Lean or Six Sigma Green Belt, with minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Manufacturing Environment using Lean methods
- Excellent organization, time management and leadership skills
- Good knowledge Microsoft Office suite (excel, word, others)
- Bilingual with excellent communication skills (required)
- Organized and self-motivated team player
- Reside in the vicinity of Montreal

Production Manager
The Production Manager is accountable for leading a portion of operations or a shift within the De Havilland MRO. This role has direct responsibility for overseeing daily and weekly production activities. The Production Manager serves as a liaison between employees/supervisors and the Operations Manager or Director of Maintenance and is primarily responsible for executing short-term team objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership to ensure alignment with short-term goals and achievement of daily/weekly/monthly targets.
Ensure supervisors enforce all health and safety policies and procedures; support safety meetings, investigations, audits, etc.
Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations (including Transport Canada), standards, and laws.
Ensure all employees have completed required initial and recurrent training.

Monitor daily/weekly task execution with actionable plans; identify risks and delays proactively.
Ensure resources are available to meet planned work tasks.
Escalate operational risks, delays, and issues as needed.
Monitor employee morale and culture alignment with company direction; report issues accordingly.

Support supervisors in staff development, training, and performance management.
Ensure staffing levels align with operational needs.

Qualifications
Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Aviation/Aerospace or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Valid M1 or M2 license considered an asset.
Minimum 4 years of progressive leadership experience in aviation/aerospace, ideally in manufacturing or aerostructures.
Experience supervising frontline staff and/or crew chiefs; experience leading meetings and training is an asset.
Experience with continuous improvement initiatives or programs.
Strong planning and troubleshooting skills.
Eligible to obtain and maintain a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC).
Must be legally eligible to travel both domestically and internationally.
