**What you will do**
**Underwriting & Portfolio Strategy**
- Lead the technical and strategic direction for Zurich's Energy, Construction (Engineering), and Marine portfolios, ensuring robust profitability and long-term growth.
- Apply your expertise in energy property and liability-including oil & gas, power generation, sustainable energy, infrastructure development, and mining - to guide underwriting and risk selection.
- Oversee and support Construction (Engineering) business, with a focus on builder's risk, including Construction All Risk (CAR), Erection All Risk (EAR), and Course of Construction (COC) insurance solutions.
- Provide balanced leadership for the Marine segment, supporting growth in areas such as cargo, hull, and related marine risks.
- Collaborate with Middle Market and Alternative Risk Solutions teams to ensure a coordinated and aligned approach to our technical risks strategy across all business units.
- Oversee pricing, coverage structuring, and complex account management for high-value clients across all three segments.
- Innovate and enhance Zurich's product offerings to stay ahead of evolving client needs and industry trends in each segment.
**Leadership & People Development**
- Inspire, coach, and develop a national team of underwriters and specialists across Energy, Construction, and Marine.

Market Engagement & Relationship Management

- Collaborate with Claims, Risk Engineering, Distribution, and Multinational Servicing teams to deliver seamless client solutions.
- Guide your team in strengthening Zurich's reputation as a market leader in Energy, Construction, and Marine specialty lines.
**Underwriting Excellence**
- Set and uphold high standards for underwriting governance, technical quality, and risk controls.
- Use analytics, engineering insights, and catastrophe modeling to inform portfolio decisions.
- Drive disciplined pricing, exposure management, and reinsurance strategies.
**Operational & P&L Excellence**
- Take full P&L responsibility for the Energy, Construction (Engineering), and Marine segments within National Accounts.
- Optimize underwriting workflows and champion technology adoption to boost efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure compliance, operational resilience, and continuous improvement across all business lines.
**Qualifications - What you bring to the table**
**Required**
- Bachelor's degree in business, insurance, or a related field.
- 15+ years of underwriting experience in commercial P&C insurance, with significant expertise and a proven track record in energy (including mining) risks and heavy industry.
- Minimum 5 years of people leadership experience in a technical underwriting environment.
- Strong technical mastery in operational energy exposures, property and liability lines, and portfolio strategy.
- Strong background, and experience in Construction risk solutions.
- Demonstrated P&L accountability and a track record of delivering profitable growth across specialty business lines.
- Strong presence in the Canadian and/or international markets, with established broker and client relationships.
- Fluency in both spoken and written English is required to facilitate communication with internal and external stakeholders outside Quebec.
**Preferred**
- Advanced degree or designation (e.g., CIP, FCIP, engineering, or technical field).
- Experience with multinational, captive, and cross-border insurance programs.
- Deep familiarity with sustainable energy technologies (e.g., nuclear, solar, hydro, wind, carbon capture, BESS, biofuels).
- Experience managing both property and casualty exposures.
- Strong business planning, analytical, and change management skills.
Compensation for roles at Zurich varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience?The salary range provided is a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location where the position may be filled?As required by local law, Zurich provides in good faith a reasonable range of compensation for roles?Compensation may exceed the range listed based on the evaluation of skillset and experience? The starting salary range for this position?is $220,000 - $300,000.

The Opportunity:
The Reinvestment Construction Specialist will be responsible for the coordination and administration of McDonald's construction projects in Canada. Based in our offices in either Toronto or Montreal, the Specialist will work collaboratively with the Reinvestment Construction Team to ensure assigned construction projects are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Duties
Construction Projects (80%):
* Assist with the circulation and approvals of capital budgets.
* Project responsibilities including, but are not limited to:
a. Creation of project budgets and purchase orders, including submitting RFP's & RFQ's for new projects.
b. Monitor and occasionally assist with receipting for payment of invoices.
c. Administrate the tendering process for construction projects and verifying all necessary paperwork has been submitted by General Contractor (GC) prior to construction ground break. As well, to manage and assist with GC PO creation, monthly draws, change orders and retainage release.
d. Meeting the required 150 day close out deadline for all construction projects.
e. Vendor (supplier) management, including coordination, scheduling, reviewing quotes, dealing with escalations, troubleshooting, etc.
f. GC support for the Area Construction Managers (ACM), including attending project meetings and managing project documentation.
* Set up new suppliers in accounts payable system and assist with training of new GC's and suppliers.
* Monitor and update key construction schedules in Canadian Directory, Smartsheet and MBS.
* Ensures that site files are organized, maintained, and contains required information on Construction Folder Required Documentation Checklist.
* Travel - occasional travel for meetings with National team and site visits.
Admin Support (20%):
* Support Area Construction Managers and National Manager on various admin tasks, including:
o Setting up meeting invites and reminders.
o Coordinates/Plans for Coordination of various meetings.
o Putting together meeting agendas.
o Taking Meeting minutes and distributing.
o Generating reports from McDonalds database.
Qualifications
+ 3-5 years of related work experience. Experience in project coordination skills and/or construction administration is considered an asset
+ Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Bilingualism in French is an asset but not required.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint
+ Strong knowledge of (or aptitude to learn) database systems (i.e.: Oracle and Smartsheet)
+ Strong organization and multi-tasking skills with the ability to work on multiple projects while still maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

**Position Summary**
We are seeking a highly experienced **Lead for Engineering Services During Construction (ESDC)** to oversee and coordinate engineering support throughout the construction phase of a major transit infrastructure project involving tunnel sections and underground stations. The successful candidate will lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers and specialists to ensure technical compliance, support issue resolution, and provide oversight on design intent, constructability, and change management.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ **Lead and manage** the ESDC team providing engineering support across tunneling, underground stations, and associated systems during construction.
+ Act as the **primary point of contact** for technical matters between the design team, construction teams, and client representatives.
+ Provide **timely technical responses** to RFIs, NCRs, Field Change Requests, and other construction-related queries.
+ Ensure **design intent is maintained** during construction, supporting interpretation of design documents and resolving conflicts.
+ Coordinate with **construction teams** to assess constructability, provide clarification, and facilitate design changes or optimizations.
+ Oversee **technical reviews of contractor submittals** , shop drawings, and temporary works designs for compliance with contract documents.
+ Lead **interface management** between tunnel and station packages and other project disciplines (track, MEP, structural, geotechnical, systems, etc.) as it relates to construction activities.
+ Support the management of **design changes** , assess their impacts, and collaborate with commercial teams for cost/time implications as it relates to RFI's, NCRs and Field change requests.
+ Attend construction meetings and **site inspections** to identify technical risks and proactively resolve engineering challenges.
+ Collaborate with safety, quality, and environmental teams to ensure technical compliance with regulatory and client standards.
+ Contribute to **claims and disputes support** through engineering assessments and technical documentation as required.

The Ontario Line is the first tunnelling project to start in Toronto's downtown core in more than 60 years. # Job Summary:
The Cosburn Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing the construction planning and construction of Cosburn Station by the Pape Tunnel and Underground Stations (PTUS) contractor via the PTUS progressive design and build contract. The Cosburn Construction Manager reports to the PTUS Delivery Manager who is the DP's lead on the PTUS contract. The PTUS Sammon Construction Manager will have a team of one or two field specialists once construction commences.
# Major Responsibilities:
A key project leader within the Ontario Line Delivery Partner team, the Construction Manager for Pape Tunnel and Underground Stations is responsible for the construction of the Cosburn station underground structure towards the north of the Ontario Line alignment. Alongside previous industry experience supervising construction of deep underground structures, the successful candidate will have proven experience in leading teams and providing operational direction to multi-discipline field specialists and commercial support teams.
