  • Assist in physical inventories.

Position: Material Handler


Shift: 6-week repeating schedule including days, weekends and nights.


Pay: $22.25/hr

Role Purpose :

Responsible for operating powered equipment for the purpose of moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and counting product. Responsible for checking all inbound and outbound products. Ensures products are free of damage and infestation, product code dates are properly recorded and products match customer requirements.

Key Accountabilities :

  • Physically load product onto equipment, pallets or totes more than 20% of specified shift.
  • Put-away and pick product for shipment or stock. Insure the exact number and type of products, ordered by the customer, are checked and loaded correctly.
  • Compare the quantity, quality, labeling, and address with the customer’s order to ensure outgoing product shipments are complete and correct.
  • Changes equipment battery or LP tank and monitors power source as necessary.
  • Verify and report discrepancies such as non-available products and OS&D.
  • Maintain the facility and the facility’s equipment in a neat, clean, orderly fashion. Inspect all operated equipment daily.
  • Complete daily inspection of equipment.
  • Assist in physical inventories.

Required Education and Experience :

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Forklift certificate or satisfactory completion of a forklift-training program is required within the first 30 days of employment
  • Six months warehouse experience, preferred
  • Six months forklift operation experience, preferred

+ Maintain clean, labeled, and organized storage areas
+ Label and manage paperwork for hazardous waste disposal
+ Cycle and manage FAB scrap at scheduled intervals
+ Assist with inventory counts and support shipping/receiving as needed
**What You Bring to the Table**
+ High school diploma or GED
+ Able to lift up to 20kg and stay active throughout your shift
+ Strong problem-solving and organizational skills

As our Material Handler, you will perform the physical and/or administrative tasks involved in the order fulfillment and manufacture, storing and distributing of materials, parts, supplies and equipment.

Your Challenge
+ Prepare, load and unload shipments including documentation and verification
+ Process all material to include examination for damage, processing discrepancies, and delivery of material to stock rooms
+ Perform a variety of kitting and order functions
+ Contact carriers to pick up freight
+ Recommend process improvements to reduce future discrepancies
+ Assist with cycle count inventory
+ Utilize measuring equipment, dial calipers, gauges.
What You Bring
+ 2+ years of relevant experience in a manufacturing setting, with machine shop experience
+ Lifting, pushing, pulling 50lbs
+ High School or GED required
+ Forklift certification is preferred
+ Self-motivated, demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to work well in a team environment
+ Ability to read job documentation and Engineering drawings
+ Previous use of common measurement equipment
+ Previous exposure to inventory management

TDY FLIR Integrated Imaging Solutions (IIS), a division of FLIR systems, headquartered in the Greater Vancouver area, BC, addresses mainly 2 growing markets: Machine vision for the largest part of our activities, and People Flow Analytics.
Regarding Machine Vision: we provide to machinery manufacturers or system integrators imaging products and solutions that are used for quality inspection, measurement, traceability, vision guided automation and robotics, as well as intelligent traffic systems. Regarding People Analytics: we are currently focused on Retail Analytics, and we provide imaging products and solutions that are used to measure retail customers traffic, customers queuing time, customers flows in the retail space; Essentially our People Analytics products help to replicate the equivalent of web analytics in the physical world.

**Job Qualifications:**
+ High School Diploma

**Job Summary**
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Material Handler performs inventory related activities related to all materials received. The Material handler loads, unloads and moves materials within plant, warehouse, storage facility or worksite and assembles and issues component kits to support product manufacturers.
**Job Responsibilities**
+ Receives products, components from Incoming Receiving/Inspection, ensuring accuracy
+ Places into inventory any received materials in accordance with internal processes
+ Reads work orders or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved
+ Prepares material kits to the production floor in accordance with internal processes
+ Attaches tags or labels to materials or otherwise marks information
+ Opens containers using box cutter, steel cutters, crowbar, claw hammer, or other hand tools
+ Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand
+ Conveys materials to or from storage or worksites to designated areas to include the manufacturing floor by use of hand truck, electric dolly, Forklift, or other device
+ Provides support to Incoming Receiving and Planning as needed
+ Works under general supervision on duties and tasks that reflect substantial variety and complexity
+ Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
