Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret detailed drawings, assembly procedures, routing cards, schematics, and bills of materials.
  • Assembly of transducer products and systems including mechanical assembly, bonded assembly, electro-mechanical assembly, encapsulation and modification of components using workshop tooling.
  • Conduct Product Tests such as Hydrostatic pressure testing, receive inspection of complex machined components, load testing, environmental testing and electro-acoustic test and characterization while using a variety of test devices and methods.
  • Complete and maintain detailed product build and test documentation, assess product compliance to established quality standards, and sign-off of key build stages.
  • Contribute to refinement of product design, build documentation and processes through record of changes and red-lines for review during product assembly.
  • Working as part of a skilled interdisciplinary team to resolve production and assembly issues while working with engineering, manufacturing and quality teams.
  • Prepare materials for assembly using solvent cleaning and abrasive surface preparation.
  • Use various chemicals, adhesives, and compounds to encapsulate and bond parts.
  • Record actions taken by completing production and quality forms in accordance with ISO9001 requirements.
  • Identify products or parts that do not meet quality standards and follow quarantine procedures as required.
  • Maintain a clean, hazard free workstation by cleaning and maintain equipment, tidying production floor and complying with health and safety procedures, rules and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Formal Technician or Technology training from a recognized college or university.
  • Prior experience working with equipment for underwater use including electro-mechanical devices
  • Experience in the assembly of complex mechanical systems and components, test engineering, bonded assembly or encapsulation considered an asset.
  • Proficient computer literacy suitable for update and release of documents and referencing technical documentation.
  • Strong reading comprehension, writing and documentation skills.
  • Experience, or willingness to learn, engineering documentation.
  • Solution-oriented and can identify and solve problems.
  • Occupational Health and Safety and WHMIS certification (or ability to successfully obtain)

Perform alignment or adjustment using high precision equipment of flight or tooling subassemblies or assemblies according to theoretical values or guidelines submitted by Engineering. Perform testing, troubleshooting, and alignments of equipment, subsystems, and systems. May be required to calibrate and/or characterize various tooling and/or flight components.

Minimum qualifications required:

• College diploma or equivalent diploma in mechanical, aeronautical engineering or related field based on assignment.

• A combination of other experiences/education that is relevant can be considered.

• 2 to 3 years of relevant experience.

• Fluency in spoken and written French. Knowledge of English is an asset.(Prepares reports for Ontario head office).

• Knowledge and experience, based on assignment.

• Machiniste : Effectuer l’usinage des pièces sur commande numérique ou conventionnelle selon les temps évalués. Lire et comprendre un programme d’usinage CNC. Effectuer la mise en route des machines-outils. Effectuer la validation des pièces usinées à l’aide du matériel de métrologie mis à sa disposition.

• Alignement : Sous supervision. Effectuer l’alignement ou l’ajustement à l’aide d’équipements de haute précision des sous-ensembles ou des ensembles de vol ou d’outillage selon des valeurs théoriques ou des directives soumises par l’Ingénierie. Effectuer les essais, les dépannages et les alignements des appareils, des sous-systèmes et des systèmes. Peut être appelé à calibrer et/ou caractériser différentes composantes d’outillage et/ou de vol.


Qualifications minimales requises:

• DEC ou l’équivalent en génie mécanique, aéronautique ou dans un domaine connexe selon l’assignation.

• Une combinaison d’autres expériences/éducation pertinentes pourrait être considérée.

• 2 à 3 ans d’expérience pertinente.

• À l’aise en français parlé et écrit. Connaissance de l’anglais, un atout.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventative and predictive maintenance on plant infrastructure and downstream extrusion machinery, including pullers, cutters, cooling systems, conveyors, and winding/packaging equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues such as misalignments, bearing failures, gear wear, drive chain and belt issues, and hydraulic/pneumatic leaks.
  • Maintain and service pumps, valves, gearboxes, rollers, and other rotating/mechanical assemblies critical to continuous operation.
  • Conduct mechanical adjustments and precision alignments to ensure consistent product quality and minimal downtime.
  • Inspect and replace wear parts (seals, bearings, bushings, belts, blades, rollers) according to schedules and equipment condition.
  • Support installation and commissioning of new downstream equipment, ensuring proper alignment, anchoring, and integration into existing lines.
  • Assist with equipment modifications and upgrades to improve performance, efficiency, and safety.
  • Interpret basic diagrams, schematic drawings, and service manuals to determine work procedures.
  • Diagnose, locate the cause of, and repair malfunctioning systems and components using test equipment.
  • Drive continuous improvement through reliability efforts and root cause failure analysis.
  • Carryout oral/printed work request and apply corrective measures in a timely fashion.
  • Have intermediate grasp of related mechanical requirements and apply corrective measures.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, downtime events, and spare parts usage in the CMMS system.
  • Fulfill mechanical requirements of work orders and trouble shooting and repairs c/w requesting assistance where necessary.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Communicate daily repair activity with Supervisors and with other Departments.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and plant maintenance standards.

Qualifications

  • Background in mechanical systems (millwrighting, heavy-duty equipment repair, HVAC, or related fields) formal trade certification is an asset but not required.
  • Hands-on maintenance experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or extrusion environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, belts, and gear systems.
  • Ability to read mechanical diagrams and equipment manuals.
  • Skilled with basic fabrication, welding, rigging, and use of precision measuring tools.
  • Experience maintaining HVAC, compressed air, or industrial cooling systems is an advantage.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or within a team.
  • Willingness to adapt and learn new systems in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Familiarity with downstream extrusion is considered an asset.
  • Ability to complete work orders and organize and plan daily tasks with minimal supervision.
