We are currently recruiting for a skilled contract AWS Engineer to play a crucial role in the optimization and maintenance of our AWS Connect environment. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute directly to the efficiency and effectiveness of our customer contact center operations. Qualifications:

  • Scale AWS infrastructure to support application needs, focusing on reliability and security.

  • Enhance monitoring and performance with CloudWatch (or other tools), providing comprehensive logging, alerting, and monitoring solutions.
  • Manage CI/CD pipelines, primarily in Jenkins, including creating, building, and monitoring jobs. Support developers and production teams by maintaining and optimizing internal environments, including serverless migration of jobs.
  • Troubleshoot network, infrastructure, database, and application issues as they arise.
  • Participate in security initiatives, including penetration testing, disaster recovery planning, cyber incident response, and policy enforcement.

Qualifications:

This role is with a company that is a leader in the video streaming industry. This role is great for someone located in Canada looking for a remote role.

You Will:
  • Designing, building, and running the data infrastructure to support the Video organizations growing data needs.
  • Promoting best practices, and improving the quality of the internal data products inside the video organization.
  • Suggesting, and defending solutions to make the video data platform best in class.
  • Develope scalable RESTful services using Go
  • Manage large scale AWS based infrastrucuture
You Have:
  • 5+ years of experience building large scale reliable data backends, in collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience distilling complex requirements into scalable solutions.
  • Experience promoting best practices by example, and mentoring junior engineers.
  • Working with Amazon Webservices, S3, EMR, Redshift etc.
  • Experience working with GoLang, Apache Spark, or Apache Flink architecture

Join the vibrant BrightOrder engineering team and immerse yourself in the dynamic world of backend development and DevOps. Collaborate in the creation and maintenance of scalable, cloud-native services on AWS, focusing on managing messaging systems, databases, and deployment pipelines to keep everything running smoothly.

In this role, you will:

  • Design, develop, and upkeep Python-based backend services
  • Create and oversee CI/CD pipelines for efficient and dependable deployments
  • Optimize and maintain databases using PostgreSQL and Amazon Aurora
  • Establish and manage message queues with RabbitMQ for seamless service communication
  • Monitor and resolve issues across the stack to ensure performance and uptime
  • Collaborate with product, QA, and engineering teams to introduce new features and enhancements
  • Adhere to security best practices in all systems
  • Contribute to release management processes and work closely with QA and Product teams to ensure stable, frequent deployments
  • Thoroughly document workflows, service architecture, and deployment procedures

Requirements

Must Have!

  • 3–5+ years of experience backend development
  • Solid experience working with RabbitMQ or similar message queuing systems
  • Proficiency with PostgreSQL and Amazon Aurora, including performance tuning and backup strategies
  • Strong working knowledge of AWS (EC2, Lambda, ECS, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Comfortable in Linux environments with strong scripting ability
  • Experience with Docker and container orchestration (e.g., ECS, Kubernetes)
  • Familiarity with Git-based workflows and branching strategies
  • Demonstrated ability to use AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Claude, or similar) to accelerate development, documentation, and problem-solving.
  • Strong understanding of security, networking, and system reliability

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with serverless architectures in AWS
  • Familiarity with microservices and distributed systems
  • Knowledge of Redis or other cloud-native services
  • Background in fleet management, logistics, or transportation software is a bonus!
