Position Summary and Scope of Service:
Teachers are responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating individualized educational programs for small groups of students within the St.Amant School, in accordance with provincial legislation and consistent with the mission, philosophy and regulations of St.Amant.
St.Amant School serves school-age persons who reside at River Road Place as well as individuals who live in the community. The program offered is one component of an integrated service model in which all St.Amant resources are seamlessly coordinated and integrated to achieve shared objectives.
The primary responsibility of the Teacher is to plan and implement student educational goals through collaboration with family, coordinators, clinicians and other members of the student-centred interdisciplinary team. Teachers pursue educational goals through a combination of means including individual and small group teaching and through the supervision and direction of Instructional Assistants and Volunteers.

Classroom Management:
The Teacher is responsible for managing student educational programs ensuring adherence to policies of St.Amant, the requirements of the Department of Education and Literacy and any other external regulatory or accrediting bodies. Priority is given to providing education services which are individualized to the needs of each student, developed by each student's full interdisciplinary team and implemented as one component of an overall integrated plan of care and education.
Duties include:
Identifies with other interdisciplinary team members, total needs of a group (classroom) of students, takes specific responsibility for identifying educational needs
Works with others to develop and implement an integrated service model that will meet the global needs of assigned students, takes specific responsibility for the delivery of the educational component of the overall program of care and education
Participates in a formal IP (Individualized Plan) process at least annually to ensure that the overall needs and preferences of each student are addressed and that educational plans and consequent outcomes are documented
Provides direction and supervision to Instructional Assistants to ensure services provided are individualized, developmentally and age appropriate and reflect state-of-the-art educational practices

The Uummarmiutun Teacher plays a key role in preserving and revitalizing the Uummarmiutun language as part of the Inuvialuit five-year language plan.
Reporting to the capacity manager, the teacher will be responsible for teaching Uummarmiutun to students, helping to ensure the language's survival and growth in the community. Uummarmiutun is a vital part of Inuvialuit culture and heritage. Its preservation is essential in maintaining the linguistic diversity of the Inuvialuit Settlement Region (ISR).
We are looking for two teachers for a one-year term position , with a possibility of extension. Ideal candidates will have experience in linguistics or education, be proficient in Uummarmiutun and have a background in curriculum development
QUALIFICATIONS

The ADEA is a First Nation Education Authority serving the three Denesuline First Nations communities in northern Saskatchewan; Black Lake First Nation, Hatchet Lake First Nation, and Fond Du Lac First Nation. The Authority serves a total student population of approximately 1,400 students. The Authority is working toward improved educational outcomes by utilizing the latest technology, progressively piloting programs, and integrating Denesuline culture into the classroom and school curriculum.

JOB SUMMARY
The Kangiryuarmiutun teacher plays a key role in preserving and revitalizing the Kangiryuarmiutun language as part of the Inuvialuit five-year language plan.
Reporting to the capacity manager, the teacher will be responsible for teaching Kangiryuarmiutun to students, helping to ensure the language's survival and growth in the community. Kangiryuarmiutun is a vital part of Inuvialuit culture and heritage. Its preservation is essential in maintaining the linguistic diversity of the Inuvialuit Settlement Region (ISR).
We are looking for two teachers for a one-year term position , with a possibility of extension. Ideal candidates will have experience in linguistics or education, be proficient in Kangiryuarmiutun and have a background in curriculum development.
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must be/have:
- Have a bachelors degree in education or a related field, or equivalent experience in teaching Indigenous languages.
- Hold or be eligible for a N.W.T. Professional Teaching Certificate (CertifiED NWT) or a Language Specialist Certificate.
- Be proficient in Inuvialuktun/Kangiryuarmiutun and understand its cultural significance.
- Have experience in curriculum development and classroom management.
- Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be passionate about language preservation and cultural education.
- Be familiar with Inuvialuit culture and traditions.
