Responsibilities
Position Summary:
Under minimum supervision, performs warehouse worker duties. Assignments require the exercise of independent discretion, judgment and a thorough understanding of company/department policies and procedures. Employees will work both independently and as part of workgroups or teams.
This position provides the labour required for the warehouse operations within the distribution centre. In our Warehousing Operations, there are three positions: General Warehouse Worker, Dry/Cooler Picker, and Freezer Picker. The starting hourly rate for General Warehouse Workers is $27 per hour, with an additional premium of up to $1 per hour for those assigned to freezer and dry/cooler picking.
Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
Replenishment - receiving and Putaway
+ Keep pick-slots full; replenish line, flow racks, and bulk locations
+ Rotate inventory; this is crucial in the freezer and cooler as well as items in the dry area.
+ Keep up to date on product changes, substitutions, and promotions
+ Perform receiving duties: The accurate receiving of all in-bound loads
+ Correct any labeling issues during put away or restocking that could result in errors
+ To ensure proper dock flow, work with other receivers in directing the activities of the put away team
+ Resolve any receiving issues before the end of assigned shift
+ Perform put away duties: The accurate put away of all products
+ Rotate product in racks before placing newer product into a slot
+ As needed, breakdown loads to fit into company racking
+ Resolve all put away errors and receiving issues throughout assigned shift. Error file must be free of errors by the end of assigned shift
Freezer/Cooler - Dry/Cooler Selection
+ Perform dry/cooler - freezer/cooler selection: Accurately selecting product to be loaded on company trailers
+ Ensure proper stop sequence and construction on all pallets/carts selected
+ Ensure loading of product selected is in its proper place on the company trailer
+ Responsible for load quality and reliability
+ Put away all returns at the end of assigned shift
General Responsibilities
+ Change batteries in equipment as needed
+ Check and evaluate work against quality standards
+ Ensure work area is kept clean at all times
+ Organize own work to maximize safety and efficiency. Identify and correct potentially unsafe situations and conditions
+ Perform all other related duties as assigned
Scope of Supervision and Authority
+ Responsibilities are performed with minimum supervision and communication from the Warehouse Shift Supervisor
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience:
+ High School or equivalent experience and exceptional ability
+ Must be able to work in a cold or freezer environment
+ Able to repetitively lift and move heavy boxes (up to 55lbs)
+ Warehouse experience in high-volume, food-service, distribution or logistics or equivalent experience is an asset
+ Forklift and electric pallet jack experience is an asset
+ Team player
+ Good communication skills
+ Great work ethic, high initiative, self-motivation and positive attitude
+ Ability to multi-task, time management skills, detail-oriented
+ Effective problem solving skills
Work Environment This role includes weekend work as well as variability in shift start/finish timings based on job location. Shift timings and scheduled days of work may change from time to time based on business requirements; therefore, flexibility in your schedule is a job requirement. Sunday to Saturday, any shift, with weekend work required. Safety boots are required. Uniforms supplied.

The Role


We are in search of a Warehouse Worker to join our team in Back Bay, New Brunswick.

Key Responsibilities


  • Take inventory of materials shipped or received.
  • Restocking and ordering new parts (sometimes custom).
  • Record the quantity, type and value of stock on hand using computerized or manual inventory system.
  • Reconcile physical inventories with computer counts.
  • Submit orders into the company’s sales software for customers.
  • Load and unload materials
  • Store, count, weigh, and open materials received.
  • Label boxes to identify materials.
  • Dispose of leftover packing materials such as wooden crates, pallets, and cardboard

Required Knowledge, Skill and Abilities


  • An understanding of inventory procedures.
  • Strong computer skills with an emphasis on MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook and Word)
  • Ability to prioritize with a focus on customer service.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as a member of a cross functional team.
  • Ability to follow established policies and procedures.

To be successful in this role will strive to deliver extraordinary customer service to internal and external clients. Experience in inventory control would be considered an asset, however, on the job training will be provided.

Job Description

  • Unload and load product into warehouse in a safe and efficient manner
  • Identify, count, sort, pick, package, unpackage, stock and move product in warehouse
  • Load product for customer deliveries in a safe, efficient and timely manner
  • Complete and maintain required customer delivery paperwork
  • Comply with all material handing company policies and procedures
  • Contribute to a safe, orderly and efficiently operating warehouse
  • Operate forklift and other material handling equipment as required
  • Perform inventory cycle counts as required
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customer regarding product deliveries
  • Perform general housekeeping duties including maintaining a clean work area
Qualifications

  • 2 years warehouse experience strongly preferred.
  • Repetitive heavy lifting required
  • Ability to work under variable weather conditions.
  • Extensive standing, frequent bending, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, twisting, and walking.
  • Use of small hand tools, pallet jack, forklift, etc.
